Music and art

Avery is really into art these days. We got some new paints and paper for their easel and she's been asking to paint any time she is awake! Morgan picked out a guitar (or as she calls it, a bitar) at the toy store and has been a "rockstar" ever since! I think she will play the guitar and Avery will be the singer (mainly because Avery's a ham and makes up lots of silly songs!)

My little builders

Our dance class was canceled this week because of Spring Break, so we decided to check out the kids workshop at Home Depot. This month's project was a butterfly house. Morgan particularly liked the gluing part of the project. Avery loved the painting!

Notice the stream of glue Morgan's got going?!?

Very serious!

Happy Easter

We had a big Easter weekend!

The girls started off with a party at school on Thursday. The Easter Bunny visited their classroom and they had an egg hunt.

Poor Avery ended up with the stomach bug on Friday, so she was home with me. She recovered quickly and was feeling much better for the remainder of the weekend.

Saturday morning, we went to an Easter egg hunt at the girls school. After last year's debacle at the park, we decided to do one that was a little more controlled and less of an egg hunt for parents and more fun for kids. Plus, this was inside on the soccer fields so no worries if the weather was bad. The girls had fun and got lots of fun prizes. Avery was pretty disappointed that she didn't get the golden egg. :) We had brunch afterwards at our favorite little local place, The Harvest, and then everyone crashed for the afternoon!

After naps, we went over to Aunt Erin's house and decorated eggs. Morgan was very particular about her eggs and probably decorated 1 egg to Avery's 3 eggs. :)

On Sunday morning, the Easter bunny left the girls some surprises and hid eggs all over the house. They had a blast finding them. And then asked us to hide them, so they could find them a few more times.

My brother hosted Easter brunch at his house. Morgan was super excited that it was just warm enough to get the bouncy house out. The kids played with Nolan and Sandi's niece and nephew and had a ton of fun! We had en egg hunt outside and just finished when the rain started. It was perfect timing!

The girls crashed super hard on the way home from Brett's house. Good thing it's a little over an hour drive, so they got in a good power nap!

Bubbles!

A couple of visitors

My cousin Chris was home from China, so we got a pic of him with all the kiddos! Ha!

Grandma Ruth came for a visit and the girls had a blast playing with her!

First trip to the zoo this year

The day after it snowed, it was gorgeous outside. Go figure! So, we decided to go to the zoo. The girls seemed more interested in the animals this time. They are more curious about what the animals eat and which ones are the mommies and daddies and babies.

Brookfield Zoo opened another kids area with a petting zoo and a bird house. The girls loved brushing the goats and feeding the birds. The bird house was kind of crazy... the birds would fly over us in big swarms!

Snow Day

A few weeks back, we got a little snow and the girls just had to go out and play in it. Any excuse to wear their snow pants! :)

Perfectionist Avery adding a few final touches

That ended badly... poor snowy tipped over
