Avery and I got checked out and both of our heads were clear (which is pretty surprising). But, Morgan had the full treatment. The poor thing got her hair combed out for 2.5 hours and then we left with the oil treatment in her hair. We have to comb through our hair every day to make sure nothing comes back on Morgan's head and that Avery and I continue to be clear. Morgan's hair is so thick that it takes a long time!

Ugh
Well, apparently lice is going around the school and Morgan ended up with it. If you recall, last time there was a lice outbreak at school in early 2019, Morgan also picked it up. She's got so much hair and it's so long... and she's a hugger! At least this time, we recognized what it was a earlier. Unfortunately, the lady who came to our house last time is no longer doing treatments, so we ended up going to a salon where lice removal is the only thing they do.

Fun times... she says sarcastically
Do you know what this is used for???
Well, if you don't, you are lucky! We unfortunately found out the first week back at school after Christmas break. Turns out, Morgan had picked up lice at school before break and it was in full force! And as she is such a nice little girl, she shared it with her mommy! Ugh. Avery managed to avoid the infestation, which may be due to a different blood type (according to the "lice lady"). I had no idea what to look for and didn't even realize Morgan had lice until I found a live louse on her head! Missed the whole egg stage and thought it was just a little extra dandruff. Ugh, again. So gross!
Did you know that there are people that come to your house and de-louse you? I did not, but it was a life saver! I could not have done this on my own. I would have missed some for sure! But, the "lice lady" Vivian came to our house and treated us all, even Avery got a head check and some coconut oil on her head. Vivian even came back three days later to follow-up and make sure we were still lice free. Now, we wait to see if anyone picks it back up from another kid at school. Vivian said it's bad when the school gets it because the kids just pass it back and forth. We are taking all precautions we can now. Of course, Morgan is a big hugger, so we have some work to do on that!
I have learned way more than I ever wanted to about lice during this whole process! I have also learned that schools don't get too worked up about it these days and don't even notify the parents unless there is like a huge outbreak. They don't even send kids home for lice anymore. No wonder it spreads like wildfire!
