Field Trip to the Art Institute

The 5th grade took a field trip to the Art Institute on Thursday. They had lunch at Millennium Park. The Bean is under construction, so they weren't able to get pictures there, unfortunately. The teachers and chaperones took a bunch of pictures and sent them out, so here are a few from the day.

Girl Scout Meeting

At Avery's first Girl Scout meeting this fall, they did an activity where they had to build a complete suspended circle with Pringles. I think Avery ate as many Pringles as she used in her circle!

Splatter painting at school

Morgan's class had a fun activity where they splatter painted and their teacher sent some pictures out. She had paint all over her when she got home! :)

 

USWNT Game at Soldier Field

As part of the girls' birthday present this year, they wanted to go see the USWNT play at Soldier Field. They played against South Africa and it ended up being Megan Rapinoe's last game. Morgan was in awe to see her favorite players live in person playing right in front of her!

We got a little surprise swag for their backpacks... Morgan got the goalie and Avery got Dunn.

Bowling with Morgan

Avery was at a sleepover on Saturday night, so Matt and I took Morgan out bowling. (Morgan was also invited to this sleepover, but didn't want to go... that's a story for another day!) Anyway, we had a blast!

Matt went up to bowl and the bottom of his shoe flew off! Guess he needs some new ones! :)

Halloween Shopping with Morgan

Morgan and I went to the Spirit store to get ideas for her Halloween costume. She is pretty set on being some sort of killer clown! She loves walking around the store and checking out all their decorations and crazy accessories. We spent a good hour there!

No iPad

So, what do you do when you get in trouble and lose your iPad for a day? I guess you paint!

Water bottle holder

Avery's teacher doesn't like seeing all the water bottles on kids' desks in class, so she had them make water bottle holders that hooked on the side bins of their desks as a STEM project. Avery had a circular container already from some gift she had gotten, so she used that as a base. Then, she got Matt involved and they attached some wood to it with screws and created a small hook. She decorated it really cute!

Soccer practice/scrimmage

For Avery's Monday practice, they got to scrimmage against another team in their league. I think there are four teams in her league and her team is 4th place and the team they scrimmaged is 3rd place. So, it was at least a little better of a match. Yucky weather = Get Air

Since the weather was crappy, we decided to get some energy out at Get Air. The girls brought along their friend Lizzie and they all had a blast!

First Dance Team performance - CANCELED

Avery was excited for her first Dance Team performance at the Pets in the Park event at Ty Warner Park, but they canceled it due to the weather. We were literally walking out the door with her hair and make-up all done when we got the email! She won't be able to make it next Sunday as we already have a lot going on that day.

Escape Room Night at TBK

TBK had a parents night out with an Escape Room theme on Saturday night. The girls and their cousins went (well, except for Hunter who had a baseball game). I think they had a fun time! They were in the yellow group for the Escape Room. Afterwards, they got to do some fun stuff around the karate studio.
