Some other random pictures...

Just some more pictures from the past few weeks...

Avery picked out this headband and absolutely loves it! It's huge and flowery!

Morgan thought this was the best combination ever! Peanut butter + Goldfish!

This is how Morgan dresses at home during the winter. Tank tops and skirts! She'd wear this out if I l let her! I let the girls pick out their own clothes and sometimes the outfits they come up with are a little crazy!

We went to the Inflatables place at the mall again to let the girls blow off some energy for a bit. I wish they had this when I was a kid!

This girl is a turning into such a great little swimmer! She got another patch at swimming lessons!

Painting is always messy around our house! The girls decided to make themselves into Elsa and painted gloves on their arms. :)

Avery wanted to get her hair cut, so we hit the mall the other night. There was a display with a motion activated dragon and a dinosaur that the girls couldn't decide if they hated or loved. The dragon scared them a lot, but they liked the dinosaur.

Here's Avery showing off her shorter 'do. She actually wanted a total bob, like as short as her ears because one of her friends at school just got that cut. But, I told her we should do it in stages. I was worried she freak out if we cut it all off at one time. She loves the shorter hair and I think we'll be getting a shorter bob in the near future!

We even got a quick visit in with the Easter Bunny. Avery was all talk about how she was going to sit next to the Easter Bunny this year. But, when we actually got up there, she was freaked out! As is typical, she decided to stand as far away as possible and still be in the picture. :)

Books with Daddy before bed!

B-ball

Matt's been watching the basketball games the past few days. He even set up our basement TV in the family room, much to the girls liking! Matt said we should keep it like this because the girls can watch their shows on one TV, while he watches his sports on the other TV.

Keeping the tradition alive... there were a few tournament upsets.

Crazy weather

You know it's the Chicago area when one day you are playing in the park in jackets and a few days later, you are wearing snow pants and making snow angels!

Of course, a trip out in the snow wouldn't be complete without some hot chocolate!

Date night!

We went out for dinner at a place in DG called rbk. Good food and drinks! It's so nice to get out for a night away from the kiddos! :)

A little Avery cuddle time

Building a rain gauge

Another chance to use glue and paint and hammer some nails in = must be the first Saturday of the month and a Home Depot kids workshop!

Milkshakes!

While I was out at Saved by the Max, Avery and Morgan had a dinner date with their Dad at Steak-n-Shake.

Saved by the Max

I recently went for dinner at the Saved by the Max pop-up restaurant. It was cute and fun. I think the best part was the music... all stuff popular during the time of Saved by the Bell. They had some tasty drinks, the food was ok.

These big faces were too funny. Apparently, someone stole the Screech face. :(

Conversations with kids

It's always interesting to get a glimpse into the minds of the girls. I try to remember the things they say, but rarely do and wish I had gotten them down on paper.

The other night during book time, Avery picked a book about a wedding. So, of course, this led to all kinds of questions. I made a comment about how after Daddy and I got married, we moved into the same house together. Avery then asked if she could marry Morgan so they could live together forever. (So sweet!) I told her she couldn't marry her sister. She thought about it for a minute and said "and we can't marry animals either, right?" Um, that's correct. She thought again and said "Can I marry Papa?" (her grandpa). I said "nope, because he's already married to Mama." Then, she asked if she could marry our neighbor John. Ha! Then, Morgan asked where I lived before I married Daddy. I told her I lived with Aunt Erin. They liked that. But, when I told them Daddy lived by himself before marrying me, Avery said "was Daddy sad that he lived by himself?" Again, so sweet to even think like that. I said "no, he had some fish, so he wasn't all alone". Morgan barely missed a beat and said "did the fish take good care of Daddy?" Ha! Yep, those fish took great care of Daddy! :)
