Grove Fest

The girls spent way too many hours at Grove Fest this past weekend! They rode the rides and hung out with their friends and had a blast! It was a hot weekend!

They stopped over at a friends house to take a break from the festival.

Soaking up the summer! :)

Happy Birthday to Milo!

Milo's birthday is June 24th (had to confirm this with his official birth certificate because we all remembered it as a different day!) He is 5 years old now! We celebrated by giving him some steak and a spoonful of peanut butter and lots of extra snuggles and scratches! He's such a baby and loves attention!

Such a good boy, patiently waiting for his treat

He didn't understand the singing part, but loved the peanut butter!

Happy Father's Day!

We celebrated the Dads with lunch at Parker's. My parents were in town for the recital, so we took them out with us! We got sat in a room with a few other tables. A band was walking around performing and they stopped in our room for a few songs. Morgan wanted a steak, so she and I split a filet. Everything was delicious!

Showcase 2026 - Green Show

Avery was in the Green show, which was mostly teen and senior classes. A few "mini" classes were included in this recital as well. The theme this year was decades of dance. So, each act was a different decade. Avery had dances in the first three acts.

Avery's cheering section

Opening number

Teen Jazz - Gimme Gimme (1979)

Teen Lyrical - Running Up That Hill (1985)

Teen Hip Hop - Throwback Flow (80's mix)

As always, Avery did awesome on stage! She has such fun being up there and dancing with her friends. And we love watching her! :)

Showcase 2026 - Dress Rehearsal and Competition Recital

Avery's dance school had their annual showcase this past weekend. It started off with a dress rehearsal on Thursday night. Luckily, this year, all her dances are in the same recital. So, she only has one show on Saturday (and one on Friday night for the competition team).

On Friday night, they had the competition showcase, which is a chance for everyone to do their competition dances one last time. It's a more laid back night and a lot of fun.

They still do an opening and closing number.

The boys caught a ride with us to camp on Tuesday, so of course, Avery took a selfie!

Summer camp!

The girls had their first day of summer camp this week! They are doing the Avery Coonley summer camp for 4 weeks to kick off the summer.

They were a little disappointed that their summer camp friends were not going to be at camp until the second session. At least they'll have two weeks of camp with them!

Milo was sad that the girls were ditching him again! He had gotten used to them being home for a week! :)

Last day of 7th grade!!!

Can't believe it's the end of 7th grade already! The girls did so well their first year of middle school. They adjusted well to the larger school, changing classes and met many new friends along the way. They are looking forward to the summer and hanging out with friends and spending time at the pool! We do have a few camps lined up and our annual trip to Michigan in July.

Some pictures from their last day...

Milo wanted to be in the pictures, too!

Screenager! :)

I was not allowed to take a "getting on the bus" picture, so here is a "walking to the bus stop" picture!

They still humor me by making these boards!

We picked the girls and some of their friends up from school and took them to lunch at Gia Mia.

We went next door to Every Day's a Sundae to grab some ice cream after lunch.

And to mark the most annoying 7th grade trend, they all did some 6-7 poses! :)
