Happy birthday to Avery and Morgan!

We had a friend birthday party for the girls at Get Air, a trampoline park they both love. They each got to invite a few girls from their class. All the kiddos had a blast! Even Matt got in on the fun! :)

We did have a minor debacle with the cakes the morning of the party. We stopped by Mariano's to pick up the cakes on our way to the party and they had made only one cake instead of two. I wanted both girls to get to pick what they wanted on their cakes, so we had ordered two. Luckily, they were able to decorate one they had quickly so we ended up with two cakes for the party. But, Matt was late to the party because he had to wait around to get it. Then, we found out that both cakes were white instead of one chocolate, so that was a little disappointing. Oh well!

Avery picked out the picture for her cake and she loved it! She is really into sunsets right now!

Morgan still loves Wonder Woman, of course!

After we got home, the girls both laid down to watch their iPads and rest for a few minutes. I checked on them and they were both passed out! Guess they had a good time! ;)

Seven!

I can't believe they are actually 7 years old! How did this happen?!?! The girls woke up super early on their birthday, as usual. We always decorate fun for them and let them open presents in the morning. Kind of like a small Christmas. :)

Still in their jammies, but ready to start their birthday

Took a few more pictures later with their "seven" shirts on.

Color Run

The PTA hosted a Color Run for the fall fundraiser this year. It was a chilly night, but the kiddos still had fun getting color sprayed on them and eating colorful snow-cones afterwards. After the "race", all the kids got bags of powder to throw around, which was really the most fun part for the kids I think!

Girls weekend

My annual girls' weekend trip with Crystal and JJ was at the end of September. I love getting away and spending time with these ladies! We have been friends for so long, we can just pick right back up like no time has passed at all. It's nice to have adult conversations and drink wine and relax! :)

This year, we went to St. Louis. The weekend started out with a text from Southwest that my flight was cancelled. I couldn't get on another direct flight to St. Louis until super late, so I decided to drive instead. Went through some crappy weather, but I made it!

On Friday night, we kicked off the weekend with some margaritas and Mexican food. Then, we went to an escape room. None of the three of us had been to one before, so we started off kind of slow figuring everything out. We managed to escape with some hints from the staff. :) I think we would do much better the next time now that we know what to look for and how escape rooms work.

On Saturday, we drove to Hermann, MO to tour the wineries. Crystal had booked a small house for us to stay at, which was really nice. We spent the day touring around on the wine trolley, tasting tons of great wines and eating lots of yummy snacks! We ended the day at a pizza place and with some drinks around the fire pit.

Gardetto's + wine = awesome!

When you see an old time wagon, you just have to hop on!

On Sunday, we grabbed some breakfast and headed back to St. Louis. Since I drove and had a long drive ahead of me, I took back off to Chicago.

I stopped off at my parents house for a bit to see the progress my Dad was making on the sun room. It's looking great and I can't wait to see it when it's finished!
