Thanksgiving

We spent the Thanksgiving holiday in Ohio with Matt's family. As usual, there was plenty of great food and great times! The girls did pretty good on their first road trip. Some pics from our trip...

The girls got to meet their new (second?) cousin Quinn. She was born 3 days after them, but is quite a bit bigger. She was almost a week late and the girls were two weeks early. It will be fun to see how these three look next year!

Congratulations to Brett and Sandi!

This past weekend, my little brother got married!

When I saw him walk out with the groomsmen at the front of the church, I about lost it. Blame the post-pregnancy hormones if you will... but, I could not believe that little boy that used to terrorize me and my sister growing up was old enough to be getting married. He looked so grown up! And we could not be happier to welcome his new wife Sandi to the family. She is a perfect fit! : )

They had "randomly" selected a few people to play the Grand Prize Game. Matt was first and made it through all the buckets! (The story behind this is that Sandi was on the Bozo Show as a child and got selected to play the Grand Prize Game. When Brett proposed at Christmas time, he had Sandi play the Grand Prize Game to get a Christmas present with each bucket. Of course, the Grand Prize for the last bucket was an engagement ring. Good thing she didn't miss!)

3 years

Happy anniversary to my awesome hubby! Thank you for the past 3 years! I'm constantly reminded by all the things you do just how grateful I am that we found each other! Now that we have the girls, I see you not only as my husband and my best friend, but as a great daddy! We girls sure are lucky! : )

One month already!

Happy one month girls! The time has flown by!

I am terrible at getting good pics of the girls, so here are the best of the one month photo shoot pictures. Avery was over the whole picture taking after about the first few pictures (as you can see!).

Morgan chillin' out
Avery asleep... this didn't last long
Avery woke up!
It was sort of downhill from there... tried to get some of the two of them together.

The past few weeks

The past couple of weeks have been busy! Our lives have definitely been taken over by babies! Feedings, diaper changes, trying to sneak in a nap... my brain is a little frazzled right now, but I'll try to remember a few of the highlights of the past couple of weeks. : )

After a few reschedules, I finally got to have my baby shower. Thanks to Erin and Michelle for hosting (and rolling with all the changes along the way)!

Everything was monkey-themed - so cute!!!
Erin, me, Hany and the girls (pretty soon there will be a little boy joining this crew!)
Matt and I took the girls to their 3 week check-up last Friday. Both are doing great! They are putting on weight like champs. Morgan was up to 7 lbs 13 oz and Avery weighed 7 lbs 4 oz. Both gained over a pound since their 1 week check-up. Even though the weight difference doesn't seem like that much, it is really apparent if you hold Avery and then pick up Morgan. Morgan feels like she is so much bigger!

We got this super cute cookie bouquet from a friend at work!

We celebrated Halloween with cute little outfits!

Avery - Mommy's little pumpkin
Morgan (hard to see but she's wearing a tutu - love it!)
The girls seem pretty oblivious to each other. They sometimes flinch if the other one cries, but they don't really wake each other up all that much. It will be fun to see how they start to interact as they get older.

Hanging out in the crib together
The girls made their first trip to the Holiday (our neighborhood bar/grill). Matt and I got to have lunch and enjoy the nice weather outside, while the girls napped. The girls also went to their first party. Our friends Bridget and Jim had people over last Saturday night and we brought the girls (they were invited!) They slept the entire time and Matt and I got to enjoy a few adult beverages. The girls also threw their first dinner party at our place. I had a meeting to go to regarding child care options that NPN was hosting, so a few people from work came over to help Matt out for the night while I was gone.

Matt has been home the past two weeks helping out with the girls. I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to handle the girls once Matt goes back to work and I'm with them by myself during the day. Luckily, my mom is still available to help out when I need her... until Erin has her little boy... then we have to share her!

My next project is finding a nanny. I'm very apprehensive about leaving the girls alone with some stranger. It's going to be hard to go back to work in January. : (
