Weekend fun!

The pool is officially open for the summer! We made our first trip to the pool on Saturday. We grabbed Jimmy John's and hung out for the afternoon. It was a beautiful day!

On Sunday, Morgan hung out with friends all day. Matt and I took Avery to her piano competition. She played Fur Elise and got a superior ribbon. She was disappointed that she didn't place. It was actually the lowest she's ever scored in the competition and pretty surprising to all of us. But, judging is subjective, so things can go differently with different judges. We told her you can't get too wrapped up in one person's opinion. We grabbed ice cream on the way home, which of course always helps! :)

We met up with the boys at the pool for a bit to cool off. It rained off and on.

Pool days are here again!

The pool officially opened for the summer, but it's been too chilly to go. They only open if it's 68 degrees or warmer, but were letting people come in the afternoons since they want to have their opening weekend (even though it was only like 65).

Avery loves chillaxing at the pool! She has her shades and a little fan. She takes turns laying in the shade and the sun. She's working on her summer tan!

Morgan loves the treats at the concession stand! She has to get something every time we go!

This day the weather was nice and then it turned crappy pretty quickly! You could feel the air getting chillier and then the clouds came in along with thunder. They closed the pool and made everyone leave. The worst part was that Erin and Grayson had literally just shown up at the pool to hang out with us! Grayson never even got to get in the water. Oh well... there will be plenty more days of summer to enjoy the pool!

We went to the pool on Sunday for a few hours to try to soak up the remaining summer days! It was super hot and the pool was packed! We were lucky to get some chairs in the shade. Otherwise, we might not have stayed as long as we did.

It was a hot and humid day and we surprisingly had nothing planned... so we headed to the pool! We picked up Jimmy John's for lunch to eat while we were there. They were having some fun activities to kick off the July 4th week of festivities. There was a bounce house and jewelry making and even a dive contest!

Morgan was one of the two winners in the "dive" contest, which was basically a cannon ball type contest. She did a can opener and the judges loved it!

We spent the afternoon at the pool and Ticer joined us. The kids had fun swimming and then enjoyed some sweet treats!

Last Day of 5th Grade

I feel like 5th grade just flew by! Here we are at the last day already! The girls filled out their boards... wonder how long they'll let me keep this tradition up?!?

After school, they had a fun fair for the kids with popsicles, bouncy houses, face painting and a reptile show! We've seen the show a few times, so we skipped that this year. Morgan and her friend Lizzie got puppy paws on their arms.

We asked the girls where they wanted to grab lunch and they decided on Olive Garden!

Avery headed to a friend's house for a playdate, so I took Morgan to the pool to kick off the summer! It was chilly, but the water was warm enough to swim. She practiced her laps to see how she would do for the swim team tryouts. Then, she made her first jump of the year off the diving board!

2nd week of summer break

Our second week of summer break was a fun one! Avery went to Girl Scout day camp and Morgan went to soccer camp in the afternoon.

 Another session of volleyball... the girls continue to love playing! And this week we have knee pads and Morgan is giving those knee pads a run for their money!

Matt finished his surprise for Morgan  - a soccer kick wall! She loves it!

So, Morgan was still getting used to the set up and was kicking the ball and then shooting a the goal towards the playset. She says to me "take a video", so here it is... she accidentally shot it right over the fence and all the way to our neighbor's backdoor!

Here is Morgan ready for another hot afternoon of soccer! We saw the TBK ad, so she had to get a picture! Soccer camp has been really hot this week with 90+ temps. They moved off the turf to the baseball fields a few days because the turf gets way too hot and there is no shade.

Avery had a blast at Girl Scout camp. She was in the In"spa"ration group, so they made soap, gave each other manicures and made yogurt face masks! They also do all the typical Girl Scout camp activities!

It was SO hot that we went to the pool for an hour before dinner on Wednesday night.

Morgan is getting ready for a karate tournament in a few weeks, so they worked on the form she needs to do for the touranment.

It's Friday! And I guess that means selfies in the car on the way to Girl Scout camp!

I picked Avery up from camp and this is what she (and her group mates) all looked like! She said they were being "Chads"! :) She had a fun week and all the girls signed each others shirts on the back!

And to continue the Girl Scout fun, it was cookie reward pick-up night! She got all of these awesome rewards for all the cookies she sold! She loves the new shades!

We ended the week with a trip to the pool. It wasn't too crowded, probably because of the carnival downtown.

When we got home, Avery decided to try out her face mask she made at Girl Scout camp. She said it has Greek yogurt, honey and turmeric! She said it didn't smell great, but her skin was softer!
