Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a shortened visit with my parents for Thanksgiving. They left a day early because of the snow storm that was coming in Friday night.

But, that didn't stop Avery from getting in as much Clue as possible!

Matt made his traditional Bloody Mary's!

All hands on deck getting the food ready!

Morgan also played lots of Clue with Grandma and Grandpa!

Matt spatchcocked the turkey in the smoker, but had to finish it up on the grill so we could all eat in time!

Milo tried so hard to get some turkey! Too bad he has such a sensitive tummy! :(

We had some very delicious desserts to choose from!

Avery loved the Oreo pie... she licked her plate clean... literally!

As we always do on Thanksgiving weekend, we went to pick out the tree at Wannamakers. We found a good one pretty quickly this year!

Overnight Friday and through Saturday, the snow hit! We already had tickets to see Wicked: For Good, so we braved the streets! Erin and Beckett met up with us, too.

It was a snowy drive! When we got home, Morgan opened the car door and got covered in snow! :)

Milo loves the snow! Mostly, he just eats it. This snow was even a little too deep for him!

I think at the end of the storm, we had almost 9 inches of snow!

Milo just watched outside and hoped we'd let him out for more "snacks"!

On Sunday morning, Morgan helped out the G2011 team in the Westmont Yard League. They needed a goalie, so she filled in. They are playing against high schoolers in this league and it's 6 vs 6. Their team won 9-2. She even scored a goal! :) No pictures as we're sitting behind the glass and nothing turns out.

Morgan also had a Team MC game at Glenbard West vs the Glen Ellyn Titans. I took one picture - oops! Matt got a video, so I'll post that eventually. They ended up winning 33-19.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite days of the year! So much great food and hanging out with the family!

My parents came into town on Wednesday. The girls helped Mama make some pies!

On Thanksgiving morning, we played a lot of games of Clue... Avery is obsessed!

We kicked off the day with out traditional Bloody Mary's!

Here's the "BEFORE" picture!

And here's the "AFTER"!

Morgan helped Mama in the kitchen make stuffing and other yummy sides!

Papa is ready for the day!

He is the official turkey carver every year!

Sitting down to eat all the delicious food!

Just for a laugh, this is my plate:

And here is Avery's... she ended up having about 6 dinner rolls! :)

Poor Milo... does not get any Thanksgiving food.

These two are ready to watch the Bears play!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We hosted Thanksgiving at our house again this year. Everything was delicious and it was nice to spend time with family and friends!

Snuggles with Milo

Milo tried so hard to get Morgan's lunch!

Avery helping Papa make a peanut butter pie

Best part... getting to lick the spoon!

Nolan and Calvin stopped by and played soccer with Morgan in the backyard

Then all the kids helped make the pumpkin pie

So much delicious food!

The cutest turkey!

We all ate too much! :)

Thanksgiving

The day before Thanksgiving, the girls and I went for mani/pedis. They each got alternating orange and white on their nails, which looked super cute and festive for the holiday.

My parents came up and brought Calvin and Nolan with them, so the kids all played out in the massive pile of leaves we were accumulating in our backyard.

On Thanksgiving, Grandma Ruth came over. Also, this year my sister, Grayson and Beckett came over. Ross and Hunter were quarantined at home because Hunter had Covid. Boo! They did come over for a second so Ross could fill up his plate and Hunter could wave "hi" to everyone from the front yard! I managed to not take any pictures of the food, but you'll have to trust me that we all ate well and everything was delicious!

Showing off her pretty mani/pedi

Our table - Ross and Hunter had the "to-go" spots!

Spatch-cock turkey on the Green Egg

Such a turkey!

As is our tradition, the weekend of Thanksgiving we pick out our tree from Wannamakers. We like to have my Dad's help while they are up here for Thanksgiving. We decided to put the tree in the family room this year with gates around it so our little destroyer won't be able to ruin it. Also, he loves his little spot in the front room by the window to sit and watch outside all day. So, we would have felt bad putting the tree there and taking that away from him.

We will decorate it soon... pics to come!
