Lights in the Neighborhood

One of our neighbor's down the street has totally decorated their front yard with Christmas decorations and lights. It's awesome!

Christmas Tree

As we always do, we went the weekend after Thanksgiving to pick out our Christmas tree at Wannamaker's. We found a slightly smaller one this year since we are putting it in the family room. The front room has been taken over by the classroom!

Papa helped us pick out a good one!

Drilling the hole a little bigger

Everyone helping!

Thanksgiving

We celebrated Thanksgiving with a smaller group this year... just my parents and the Wilkens. The girls helped Mama with the cooking. And they even got kid wine this year (sparkling grape juice in "red" or "white" - gotta have choices!) We all ate a ton and enjoyed the day together!

Avery and Mama making pies the night before

The kids thought this was so funny - the ice looks like a smile!

The girls helping Mama make stuffing and noodles

Cheers-ing with their "wine"

Cheers to cousins!

Ours was real - ha!

Such a yummy spread!

Everything was delicious!

After lunch, Avery and Morgan held class for Beckett and Hunter! :)

Putting the classroom to good use - even on the holidays!

Then, we went on a walk and the kids pretended they were asleep.

A bunch of turkeys!

Studious

Morgan with her blue-light glasses and her hair in a bun... just makes me think of what she'll look like as a college student one day. :)

Remote

We had started back in person hybrid school on October 20th. Well, the COVID cases kept rising and we ended up with too many kids and staff on quarantine. So, we went back to fully remote school on November 16th for a two week "pause". I've really got to hand it to the teachers and the kiddos. They seem to bounce back and forth pretty easily. I'm sure it's much harder for the teachers than they make it seem! Here are the girls back in their "classroom" at home.

BFF's... at least for today

Went to see what the girls were doing and found this... Avery doing Morgan's hair. Not sure why, but I thought this was really cute. :)

Cousin party

Erin had a cousin party at her house when Mama and Papa were in town. Calvin and Nolan even came over to spend the night. The girls decided to come home and sleep in their own beds instead of doing the sleepover. Probably got a better night's sleep that way! :)

All the kiddos got McDonald's!

Morgan tried the blue slushy and loved it!

Lego Land

The girls along with their nanny, Anneke, took the large paper and drew out an entire city for their Lego toys. They had so much fun playing with this!

So many leaves

Matt raked the leaves in the backyard, so of course the kids wanted to play! We invited the cousins over to play as well. There was even a tug of war game!

Then, the next day after Matt had raked up all the leaves, it was super windy again and the rest of the leaves all fell. Looks like he didn't even rake the day before!

Happy Anniversary!

We celebrated 11 years on November 7th! The girls made us a beautiful sign and had a party for us. :) It was a pool party, which is why they are wearing swim suits in the picture. Ha!

Daddy got some awesome flowers for me! The girls were impressed!

Since we couldn't go out to a restaurant, Matt made steaks for us and we drank some red wine at home!

Gilbert Park

Another trip to Gilbert Park to hike around the trails. This time we met up with the boys. Such a beautiful day!
