Pumpkin Beer

I love fall! And I'm a sucker for pumpkin spice stuff. Every year, I drink as much pumpkin beer as I can during this time... until it's gone from the shelves.

This is my favorite this year!

Pre-Halloween fun

We took the day off last Friday and took the girls to the pumpkin patch. They had been to this same pumpkin patch with their school the week before, so they knew where everything was and were so excited to show us their favorite parts!

Later that day, we decorated cookies and cupcakes for the Halloween party. I'm not sure, but I think we used every piece of candy!

Heaviest cookie and cupcakes ever!

Minnie Mouse and Rapunzel at the park

The girls have been loving "costume season" and getting to wear their costumes outside of the house. These are their costumes from last Halloween, which they wear to play around the house in a lot.

Goal!

Taking a break from soccer to play with flowers

She calls this "super kicks"

Also, here is my ballerina firefighter. She's really into wearing her ballerina outfit right now, but wants to fight fires as well. :)

Meat

Matt got the Green Egg going and smoked a brisket last week. It was SO good! We had brisket, brisket sandwiches, brisket tacos, etc! Lots of meat! I'm looking forward to the next smoking project!

Treat!

Grandma Marcia and Grandpa Richard sent the girls a Halloween "treat", so we went out and got some frozen yogurt! They love picking different flavors and then adding the sprinkles and candies!

Go Cubs Go!

Avery has become a little Cubs fan lately! First thing she asks us in the morning after the games (because she doesn't get to stay up and watch the whole thing)... "did the Cubs win???" When I say "no", she's very disappointed. When I say "yes", she sings Go Cubs Go! :)

The week in review

The girls had their 4-year-old check up a couple weeks ago. They did really well and the doc was very happy with their progress. The doc said they like to see growth of around 2 inches and weight gain around 5 pounds for their age from the last check-up. Avery had a major growth spurt over the last year - 3.5 inches! She's trying to catch up to her sister. Morgan is an inch taller and a pound heavier than Avery. Before this year, Avery had always been shorter, but weighed more than Morgan.

The girls had to get 3 shots this year. Morgan volunteered to go first this time. She didn't cry too much and just said "ouch" loudly at each shot. :) Of course, after that, Avery did NOT want to get her shots. She was crying before she even got a shot! Later, when the nurse came back in to give them stickers, Morgan said "Nurse, I think the doctor pushed that shot too far in my leg". Ha!

Waiting for the doctor
When we got home that night, the girls decided to give Daddy some shots and put play-doh "band-aids" on him!

The next day, the girls had their first school field trip. I was so nervous about letting them go on the field trip. I thought for sure one of them would get injured or run off and get lost from the group. They went to a nearby pumpkin patch and they had a blast! When I picked them up, they could not stop talking about all the fun things they had done.

Avery wanted to wear her spider web leggings to the pumpkin patch

Love, love, love these girls!
Just some other pics from the week...

Love these purple boots - our little fashionista

Happy Birthday!

We had our annual "cousins" birthday party to celebrate all the October/November birthdays... which just happens to be all the kiddos. Avery and Morgan - October 5th, Hunter and Beckett - October 8th, Nolan - October 13th, Grayson - November 3rd

Aunt Erin got the girls these "Hatchimals" for their birthdays and they loved them! It starts out as an egg and then hatches. The eyes light up different colors and each color means something. For example, blue eyes means cold and you have to rub the egg to warm it up. Once it hatches, you have to take care of it so that it can go from a baby to a toddler and so on.

Hatching!!!

Almost hatched

So excited that it finally came out of it's shell
