Avery making her mud soup... I'm pretty sure this hole in the ground has not grown grass all summer. They are always digging here!
One of the girls' best friends from school, Maddie, moved away. They had a little going away party at a nearby park for her. It was super hot that day and the kids were getting soaked by the water fountain. It was a fun send off!
We came home after that and had popsicles to cool off. I forgot how good these things are!
Matt and I spent last week in Florida visiting with Matt's mom, Ruth. While we were gone, the girls hung out with Mama and Papa.
Here they are ready for their kindergarten play-date. The PTA invited all the incoming kindergarteners for a get together to meet some other kids.
That night, Matt, Ruth and I went out for dinner to a seafood restaurant near the water in Florida. The food was great!
Ruth also picked up a cake for the next night so we could celebrate one more time before we left!
When we got back to Downers Grove and went to pick up the girls from daycare, Morgan had a surprise for us. She immediately told me she had put a bead in her ear and that she had tried to get it out herself but it just got more stuck. Ugh! So, off to the immediate care clinic we went. Luckily, the doctor was able to get it out on the the first try and there was no damage to her ear canal.
We spent the rest of the weekend relaxing and enjoying some local parks and splash pads.
We also had some "fun" with chalk and water. Morgan decided to "write" on herself with red chalk after dipping it in the water. And, by the way, it didn't come off very easily either!
