Revolution Dance Competition - Sunday - Part 2

In the afternoon, Avery's team performed their dance, "Thank u, next". They do this dance with the senior team.

Gotta love when they catch her in a funny facial!

At the awards ceremony, Avery kept getting tossed up in the air. I managed to catch a shot of her up there! :) She was having a blast!

They got an elite gold adjudication and were 1st overall (because they were the only ones in their category!)

Here's the full dance:

Team MC Shootout

While Avery was busy with her dance competition, Morgan had her first shootout for her Team MC basketball team. The girls were a little rusty, but improved throughout the two games. They lost pretty badly in the first game. I wasn't able to watch that one, but I was able to sneak out of the dance comp and come watch the second game. They were playing against a 7th grade team. They were down by a lot and made an awesome comeback to get within two points! They didn't end up winning, but Morgan played great!

She shot a lot of free throws!

More free throws!

Revolution Dance Competition - Sunday - Part 1

We had Saturday off from the dance comp. She had her other two dances on Sunday. We had to be there at 7:15AM when the doors opened. In prep for the competition, we painted some clothespins in the dance studio colors so the girls could decorate them and clip others at the competition. It's such a fun thing for them to do! :)

Up first was their lyrical dance, "Turning Page". This is everyone's (parents and girls) favorite dance and costume.

Avery gets lifted in the dance. This time, they really launched her! I'm always worried they are going to drop her. :)

They got an elite gold adjudication and ended up 5th overall. They were really excited because they beat the senior team again. The senior team was 9th overall. And at the later awards ceremony, they got a golden ticket award for Turning Page. It was a big surprise and also confusing because you usually get awards at the closest awards ceremony to the dance, but not this time.

Revolution Dance Competition - Friday night

The next competition that Avery's dance team participated in was the Revolution Dance Competition. On Friday, she had her duet, "Who's that chick". The competition took videos and pictures and they were included in the price.

The pictures they captured definitely show off her stage personality. She's pretty reserved in real life, so it's fun to see how much she loves being on stage!

They got elite gold adjudication and 3rd overall for their dance. The fun thing at this comp is they had podiums for the top 3 finishers and she got to go up on the third podium! She and Kendra take turns being the one that gets to accept the awards each competition. This was Avery's comp to accept the award.

Here's Dad in his new "dance dad" gear!

Dance Team Pictures

We got back Avery's dance team pictures and I love them! :)

The *new* Ice Bucket Challenge

The ice bucket challenge has been revived, this time to raise awareness for mental illness. The girls were nominated by friends and recently did the challenge again.

Open House

The girls school held Open House so the parents could come check out all the cool things they've been up to recently.

Avery's little buddy wrote about her

So cute! Avery has a picture of Milo on her desk!

Happy Easter!

We started Easter off with an egg hunt at our house. The girls got Easter "baskets", which were bags for the pool filled with all kinds of fun summer stuff. Then, we finally found all of the eggs, which were filled with candy and cash!

Excited to get a new Owalla water bottle

Milo wanted some gifts, too!

Missed the two eggs right behind her!

Morgan found her eggs super fast!

Milo helping count the eggs to make sure we got them all

Milo thinks he's a lap dog

After the fun at our house, we drove to Brett's for Easter Brunch and a fun egg hunt. Each kiddo had a different color/shape of egg with clues leading to the next egg. Each egg had puzzle pieces that the kids put together.

Here's Brett explaining the rules

Avery was first to finish her puzzle

They even had puzzles for the adults

Papa helped Calvin with his puzzle

Erin had to hide her pieces from Ruby

Morgan's puzzle

Avery's cookie - the cookie was still a little warm and the icing melted some! :)

We celebrated Sandi and Brett's birthdays

Erin found the cutest little bags

Bombastic side-eye (tried to get a picture of her and Grayson but she would not cooperate)

Dessert time!

Such a fun time as always! Too bad the weather was so crappy that we couldn't get outside this year! We're all looking forward to the summer swim parties at Uncle Brett's house! :)
