We first started noticing how bad it was when Color Me Badd came on. We could barely hear them singing. And people started booing and it was going downhill fast. Then people started figuring out that it wasn't Color Me Badd's fault and that the sound sucked. The lead singer of Color Me Badd actually walked over to the sound guy and tried to get him to "turn up our mics", but that didn't help. He ended up walking off the stage, pissed off.
Coolio at least acknowledged that the sound was bad. Salt-n-Pepa still put on a good show, even with the crappy sound. And Vanilla Ice seemed to have his own sound system or something because his show sounded good. But, the concert dragged on forever because they were trying to fix the sound between sets and they had a DJ playing music. I think the crowd got more into the DJ music than the live music. At least you could hear the DJ music well.
I'm definitely glad we went and it was a fun concert. I'm sure it would have been even more fun with a better sound system!
