We went into the city to see The Grinch Musical on Sunday. We lucked out that the weather held off for us to get back home. It got pretty nasty after that!
We walked through Macy's to kill some time before the show started. The girls ran up to this unicorn and screamed "take our picture!" Ha! They were really excited there were toys at the store.
We went into the Walnut Room to see the tree. So beautiful!
Then, we headed to the Chicago Theatre to see the Grinch.
It was a fun show. Morgan especially loved the part where the Grinch burped loudly for about 15 seconds. Potty humor gets her every time! Avery loved when it "snowed" on us in the theater. Reminds me of when we saw the Frozen show in Disney. They both didn't like the big boom at the end when they shot off confetti canons. Great way to kick off the Christmas season!

Christmas tree and a party
As we do every year, we went to Wannamakers to pick out our Christmas tree the Saturday following Thanksgiving. I love the smell of a real Christmas tree!
That evening, we had a little party at our house so all the cousins could play together. There was lots of craziness, coloring, face painting, etc.
Friday after Thanksgiving
Friday morning, Avery made turkey salad with Mama. My parents went out to Brett's house to hang out with Nolan and Calvin for the day.
We went with the (whole!) Wilken crew to see Ralph Breaks the Internet. I think we had 4 adults and 8 kids in tow and everyone loved it! We went to the theater with the recliners and ordered lunch.
After that, we headed back to Erin's house to play with all the kids. We went to the park for a bit, but it was pretty chilly. The kids didn't seem to mind nearly as much as the parents. :)
Hunter, Morgan, Avery, Grayson and Oliver doing their best Home Alone impersonation.
Later that night, we had our new favorite dessert - peanut butter cookies with whipped cream on top. Thanks to Mama for introducing this one to the girls. The girls thought it was super funny to put whipped cream on their noses!

Happy Thanksgiving!
We had a relatively quiet Thanksgiving holiday at home this year. Avery was quite the little helper in the kitchen. She loves cooking!
On Thursday, the girls watched Matt spatchcock the turkey for smoking. Avery was not impressed. Morgan apologized to the turkey that he had to die for us to eat him. :)

These cute little turkeys helped set the table and get everything ready for lunch.
Here they are with the biggest turkey of all! :)
My dad gets the honors of carving the turkey each year.
After eating, we all enjoyed our food comas and watched Home Alone. The girls hadn't seen it and they loved it. Morgan's a sucker for slapstick humor.

No school!
A little fun to kick off the fall break...
Lunch at Steak-n-Shake complete with yummy milkshakes!
Playdate with cousin Grayson and a very competitive game of Candyland.
Manicures for the girls and a pedicure for Grayson.
Ball Factory Fun
We needed to get the sillies out of the kids, so we went to the Ball Factory for a bit. The kids run and play and totally wear themselves out at this place every time! This time we spent a lot of time in the ball shooting room.
