This week
I'm really going to try to post weekly, even if nothing exciting is going on and it's just a few pictures.
Matt had a busy week at work and spent more hours in the office than at home. This was also the week the girls had nasty colds and pink eye in all four eyes! So, they had to miss school one day. And then I got pink eye. Ahhh, such fun times. We learned Morgan loves eye drops and Avery acts like I am pouring acid in her eyeballs. She hides at the mention of eye drops and cries the entire time I'm trying to put them in her eyes. Ugh! Anyway, I got these super pretty flowers at the end of the week and they definitely put a smile on my face! :)
The girls really enjoy doing crafts, especially Avery. I bought a few craft kits for Christmas for them and she wants to sit and do them all at once. We hit the Home Depot kids workshop every month. We are starting to accumulate a lot of pins! This time was a toolbox project. Since there was painting involved, the girls loved it even more. The girls like to call themselves superhero names for everything. So, for example, if Avery is wearing stripes one day, she'll say she's "super stripe girl". At the Home Depot, she's "glue girl" and I'm "hammer girl" because she doesn't want to hammer nails in, but she loves gluing things.
We went to the library to exchange our books. The girls love spelling right now, even though most of the words they "spell" don't actually spell anything.
We found out they have craft days at Michael's, too. So, we stopped by there to paint a little snowman canvas. We absolutely love shopping at Michael's. There really is a wide array of crap there! We get lots of craft supplies, but they also have ballet costumes and jewelry and face paint! And the last time we went, we found this plastic snake that if you put it in water for 5 days, it expands in size! We've had that stupid snake in our mudroom sink sitting in water now for over a week! The girls check on it every day.
We got together with everyone at the Wilken's house last weekend while my parents were in town. We took over the face paint we bought at Michael's. Aunt Erin and I painted the girls' faces. The cousins had fun playing together.
So, we got a new bathmat this week. Yep, such an exciting event at the Plothow house! Avery decided she would use it as her stage and put on a show for us. Notice there is actually no music playing for this show, but she just keeps on dancing! :)

Happy New Year!!!
Good-bye to 2016, hello to 2017! We hosted New Year's Eve at our house this year. The Wilkens and the Buffos came over and we did our countdown for the kids around 7-ish. :) I'm not sure they really get it yet, but they had fun toasting and making noise and loved the balloon drop!
Matt's aunt Helen sent us a bunch of decorations and this was in the package. Love this!
We let the kids make their own pizzas for dinner. This is pretty easy considering all but Morgan just wanted cheese and sauce!
These three cousins are so silly! I am so glad they get to grow up so close by each other. They won't go to the same elementary school, but they will be in the same middle and high schools.
Getting ready to "cheers"! The littles got sparkling water and we got something a little more potent! :)
We got all the kids on the couch to watch the "countdown". Netflix had a bunch of different countdowns you could play with fun characters.
Then, we all clinked our glasses and had some bubbly! Morgan was the only one that drank hers. The others said it burned their tongues. Morgan just said she thought it was spicy!
Gave all the kids some noisemakers. Well, except Beckett and Hunter. Beckett liked the 2017 glasses and Hunter just stared at everyone like they were nuts!
Little Natasha was ready to keep the party going! Morgan is ready to be a babysitter. She just loves babies. She asks when she's going to have a baby brother and I keep saying "sorry, kiddo, not going to happen!"
Oh, the balloon drop! Or should I say balloon drops! We did this a few times! The balloons were getting staticky, so they weren't flying down as fast after the first few times. The kids didn't seem to care, though.

Wrapping up 2016
A few more pictures before the end of the year. The girls went back to school and we went back to work. We're trying to get back in a routine after the holidays. I'm pretty sure the girls are going to expect a big party at our house every weekend now. Lucky for them, New Year's Eve is coming up and they will get their wish once more! :)
Just in case you forgot... PJ Masks is a favorite around our house! We have PJ Masks costumes, pajamas, books, paper masks, figurines, etc! We have watched every episode of the first season multiple times. Matt said the next season isn't going to be out until 2018. I'm sure we will have moved on to something else by then.
Something else the girls love are these little light sabers. They are actually dive sticks, I think, because they are waterproof.
This girl... oh my! She is such a little fashionista and so very independent. Does not want any help picking out her clothes or getting dressed! Don't even try!
Um, when did they get so big?!? I was looking at baby pictures the other day and I just need to stop that, because it makes me realize how fast they change!
The girls are budding photographers and take any chance we let them to use our camera phones. We were at the Harvest Restaurant the other day and Morgan took these of Matt. Actually turned out decent! The second one is him playing I Spy with Avery.

I'm always looking for ways to display all the photo Christmas cards we get each year. I usually end up just stacking them up somewhere and then I don't really get to look at them. This year, I strung them up and I loved being able to see all the fun pictures of family and friends.
