Quarantine Day 107: Weekend Fun

We had a fun day enjoying the nice weather. We found a bird's nest with baby birds in the little playground down the street.

We rode bikes around the pond.

Back at home, the pool had a big hole! Fixed it up and refilled the water. The water was a little chilly, but the girls still went for a swim.

Quarantine Day 104: Ice cream!

Today, we woke up to our pool looking a little deflated.

It had been pretty cold overnight. Then, we came outside later once it had warmed up and look at this! Re-inflated. Hmmm.

Later, we took a break for some treats and a trip to the park.

Quarantine Day 103: New Pantry

Today, our pantry got a makeover. Erin is remodeling and they were getting rid of their shelves from their pantry. Since we technically have the same floor plan just reversed, she asked if we wanted them for our pantry. So, we had the California Closets people take them from her pantry and put them in ours. Turns out our pantry was a little bit wider than hers, so they had to add some pieces to the sides to fill in the gaps, but it turned out great. We now have a nicely organized pantry... for now. I'm sure it will be a disaster in a few weeks. :)

In other news, today Gov Priztker announced that schools will reopen in the fall with some additional requirements. Like the kids will need to wear masks and they can't congregate in more than 50 at a time. There was a 60 page document that came out detailing everything, so there are a lot of things the schools need to address before August. I just can't imagine kids wearing masks all day long at school, especially in the heat with no air conditioning. I wanted to keep them home last year when it was so hot and they just sweat all day long in their classrooms, but now with masks... I just don't think that's healthy for them either. I'm very curious and anxious to see how it will all play out.

This Friday, we enter Phase 4 (out of the 5 phases).  This means that most things can open back up now (restaurants with inside dining, movie theaters, gyms, retail stores, etc) with limits on capacity. Stores, movie theaters, hair salons and gyms can be up to 50% capacity. Zoos, restaurants and bars can be up to 25% capacity. Masks are still required when it's not possible to social distance. All outdoor recreation can open back up as well. So, hopefully, the parks in the towns by us will take down their caution tape. The zoo is opening back up July 1st! Of course, it's by reservation only so that they can keep the counts down. I'm glad things are getting back to "normal", but I just wish we were closer to getting a vaccine or a more consistent working treatment.

Quarantine Day 102

Today is my mom's official birthday, so happy birthday to you! It was fun celebrating this past weekend! :)

The girls like to slip notes to each other under their doors. Here is one I found under Morgan's bed that she had gotten from Avery earlier. At least Avery drew a nice picture and a signed it "Love, Avery". :)

Quarantine Day 101: Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the great Dads in my life! Here's a picture from Erin's house that she made. I have to agree... these are some of the best! :)

We went on a hike at Smith Woods this morning.

(Just a little back story on the picture above: I told Morgan I was going to take a picture of them walking on the trail together and she said "OK". Then, as she was walking with Daddy and Avery, she put her arm behind her back and gave me a thumbs up. Ha!)

Instead of breakfast in bed, we did Daddy + Daughter lunch. The girls made a restaurant called Daddy's Diner and made a menu for him. They dressed alike to be waitresses.

Then, they got to eat with Daddy.

We even had a dessert bar with Papa's leftover ice cream and some sprinkle choices. Yummy!

We gave him a few gifts, which the girls said were his souvenirs from their restaurant.

We joked about us all needing a nap after lunch and Avery said "well, our restaurant has a couch for everyone to take a nap on before they head home!" So, they all laid down on the couch. They wanted me to take a picture of them pretending to be asleep... but, they could NOT stop giggling!

These are some lucky girls... and a lucky Daddy! :)

Quarantine Day 100: Happy Birthday Mama!

Wow, we made it to 100 days... just barely, one might say.

Today, we celebrated Mama's birthday. We started off with some more park time.

It was SO hot!

So, we came home and jumped in the pool to cool off!

Then, they were cold from the freezing water (it had just been changed out). So, Morgan put on her winter slipper socks, of course.

Then, we headed over to the Wilkens' house for a party. Papa made his ice cream, with a little help from the kiddos!

Mama with the girls.

My sister made a huge wall of pictures for my mom's birthday. It was awesome! I took pictures of a few of them.

My mom and dad at their high school graduation

Erin had crafts for the kids to do.

Erin got super cute cookies and a delicious cake from a local bakery!

Singing happy birthday - it's her 69th birthday for the second time - ha!

She loved all her gifts from everyone.

All the kids taking over the playhouse... Morgan is a monkey!

All the kiddos had a blast and were exhausted by the end of the night. The girls came home and crashed hard!
