Winding down the school year

Just a couple more weeks left of school - yay!

Heading to school on Monday

For her final project in orchestra, Morgan had to put on a concert for her violin class. She had to make a program and pick three songs to play.

Violin

Morgan decided to stick with the violin. For someone who doesn't practice a lot, she is not too bad! Just imagine if she actually practiced! :)

Orchestra Concert

Morgan had her orchestra concert the same night as Avery's BAM show... busy! The orchestra is made up of all the 4th graders in the northside elementary schools. They have individual lessons at their schools during the week and one full group practice a week where all the kids come to Whittier to practice together. The kids have been mostly plucking the strings, but have also done some work with their bows. Morgan was so excited for the concert! She did great!

They had to wear all black! We also did Morgan's hair in a bun and she LOVED it!

Morgan + Violin

Morgan earned a jingle bell at violin this week for learning all the notes on her flashcards! She really loves playing the violin, but hates practicing! Ha!

Violin Bow

Morgan earned her violin bow this week! They've just been plucking the violin strings so far, but she was really excited to show me her bow! She's doing really well, but doesn't like to practice as much as they would like her to! :)

Here she is testing out the new bow that night - let's just hope this is the before and there will soon be an after where she is playing a real song! Ha!
