Last cheer game of 7th grade

Avery cheered for the final boys basketball home game on Friday night. The 8th grade boys played in their championship game for the SDEAA tournament (and won!) I wasn't able to be there as Morgan also had a soccer game and Matt and I had to split up duties. But, he took a few pics for me. She had a lot of fun cheering this season and did a great job! :)

It's that time again...

You have to plan way in advance for summer activities! The camp registrations start in late January/early February for most things around here and sell out fast! The Loras summer camp sign up was in early December for July.

The girls are going to two session at Avery Coonley again this year. They really love that camp and they've made friends with kids from other schools there. This will be their last year to go since it only goes through 8th grade. I was able to get them registered for everything except one class is waitlisted for Morgan. I think Avery must have gotten the last spot because I clicked to add her and then clicked to add Morgan and Morgan was waitlisted. Hopefully, someone drops out so Morgan can be in the class!

Basketball at Benedictine

Morgan's travel basketball team got to watch the Benedictine University girls game and scrimmage during halftime. The coach of the Maroon team (Olympia) plays for Benedictine, so she arranged this for the girls. They got to go meet the team and hang out in the locker room with them. They all had a fun time! I wasn't able to go, but did catch some of it on the live stream (although it was just the middle of the court for the halftime scrimmage).

They had 10 girls from the Gold and Maroon teams, so they split them up into two teams to scrimmage. Coach Frankie (the Gold Team's coach, who is Olympia's sister and looks SO much like her!) and Coach Harper coached the girls during the scrimmage.

I got this fast break by Morgan on a screen shot... but this was all I could see of the halftime scrimmage because they turned off the motion following for the camera.

Catching up...

Avery has been keeping busy with cheer, piano and dance. Morgan has been keeping busy with basketball and soccer. Matt and I are just the chauffeurs in all of this! :)

We've also had a little fun with Avery's hair! She wanted to dye her hair pink for a "peek-a-boo" style. The first round all washed out, so we did it again and it turned out really cute!

We got the girls' passports in the mail, so we are all set for our trip to Costa Rica for Spring Break! Let the countdown begin!

More Team MC games for Morgan.

Pre-game team chat

We went to watch Hunter and Beckett play basketball at SMG. Aunt Erin fish-tail braided the girls' hair!

Avery's cheer team got to try some stunts out at their recent games. Here are some videos of her cheering:

It's been brutally cold here lately! The girls even had an e-learning day because it was below -25 degrees outside. Milo was a frequent star on their zoom calls with their classes. He got to spend quite a bit of time upstairs, which we don't normally do. Of course, that backfired as he threw up a SOCK on Saturday morning! That dog is nuts! He somehow found a sock under one of the beds and ate it. Ugh.

Team MC wins!

I haven't been taking many pictures at the games, but Morgan has had a few Team MC winter league games already. They are currently 6-2.

Orthodontist

Avery FINALLY lost her last baby tooth! It's been such a long process for her! Now that she lost all her baby teeth, it's time to start her second round of braces. So, we went to the orthodontist to get her "internal headgear" installed. She's about a year behind Morgan!

Spoiled

Milo loves sleeping on the couch and uses the pillows and blankets like a little human!

Game and lunch at Yard House

It was nice to have a break from commitments for a couple of weeks during the holidays! But, it was back to reality today with a Team MC basketball game. Morgan's team won! They are now 5-2 in their league.

We went out for lunch afterwards to Yard House. Of course, we had to get the LARGE pretzel!

New Year's Day

We relaxed on New Year's Day! Milo was wrecked! He had too much fun on NYE and crashed all the next day! He couldn't keep his eyes open!

Later in the afternoon, the boys came over for more ice cream sundaes to use up the leftovers! Erin and I got in a few more games of Word Yahtzee and a couple more glasses of prosecco while the kids ate and played!

Happy New Year!!!

We celebrated New Year's Eve with the Wilkens again this year! The kids had make-your-own pizzas and the adults had a fancy dinner of Wagyu steak, lobster tails and baked potato bar (courtesy of Matt!) We had ice cream sundaes for dessert. I think we celebrated midnight around 10:00 with a balloon drop for the kiddos. The girls made it past midnight this year! I was barely awake... ha! Erin and I played a few games of Word Yahtzee and we all played Hues and Cues. A fun night!

Milo was a good sport!

Getting their pizzas ready to cook

Delicious!

Ice cream sundae bar for dessert!

Milo is ready for midnight!

Hope you all have a happy and healthy New Year! :)
