Happy Easter

On Saturday, we went to our local park for an egg hunt. It was crazy! There were 20,000 eggs and a ton of people there! Morgan loved all the excitement and kids running around and screaming. Avery found a quiet little spot out of the crowd to collect her eggs. She really got into the idea of putting eggs in a bag. Of course, most of the eggs she picked up were the broken leftovers without candy... but, hey she had fun. Morgan never really got into picking up the eggs. She just wanted to run through the crowds and play with the dogs. :)

On Sunday, we had an Easter/birthday party at my sister's townhome. We celebrated Easter and Sandi and Brett's birthdays. We did an Easter egg hunt in Erin's courtyard. Again, Morgan just wanted to run free and pick up rocks. Avery got a bag-full of eggs. It's great that these girls are such individuals, but they are always running in opposite directions!

After we got home, Avery didn't want to put down her new Easter baskets.

Bookworm

Morgan has to be doing something all the time. But, that doesn't always mean she is running around. She will sit and do puzzles or play with blocks or this peg board set we have. Also, one of her favorite things to do is go through the book bins. She will take out every single book and look through it. I like this activity, because it keeps her out of trouble!

Breaking the habit?

We've been trying to break the "binky" habit, but haven't been too strict about it so far. After I saw this picture, I realized we are doing a terrible job! Ha!

One in her mouth and three in her hands

A doctor's visit and some more pictures

About 2 weeks ago, Morgan and Avery turned 18 months. We went for their check-up today and the girls were all over the place waiting for the doctor. She was running late and we were trying everything to keep them entertained. Matt and I were exhausted by the time we left! The appointment went well. Best part, they each only had to get one shot... and neither of them cried! Much better than some visits where we're consoling two screaming kiddos.

Here are their stats... Morgan is 34" tall and weighs 27 lb 4 oz (95th percentile for height and 90th percentile for weight). Avery is 32.5" tall and weighs 26 lb (70th percentile for height and weight). Just for comparison, I looked up what I was at this same age. I was 34" tall and weighed 28 lb 4 oz. Same height as Morgan, but I was a little chunkier.

Now a few random park pictures from my phone...

Morgan LOVES the slide!

Whee!

Big smiles at the bottom of the slide

Avery likes to explore around the park

Just a couple of days later... snow!

A little snow doesn't stop these two

Bumps

Morgan is very active and very curious. She's a little hard to contain these days. She has SO much energy! She loves climbing - one of her favorites is climbing on her stroller. I'll look away and in a matter of seconds, she's standing up in the stroller just bouncing and giggling away. She also has figured out how to get out of our condo and makes a break for it at least a few times a day. The girl is fast! If we were staying longer, we'd definitely have to get a chain. With all this activity comes lots of tumbles and some bumps and bruises. The other day she was climbing through the chairs under our kitchen table and smacked her face pretty good. Got her first bloody nose and a little black eye! Add that to the list of toddler milestones!

Park playtime

With the nicer weather, we've managed to get out to the park a few times this year. To say the girls love the park is an understatement. They run around and climb and fall and watch all the big kids. The park near our house is more for older kids. Lots of slopes and climbing features. No swings, but has a couple of slides. The big kids run around like mad there and I'm always worried the girls are going to get trampled. :)

Avery looks so tiny here!

Couldn't get enough of the slide!
Big park to run around in and Morgan wanted to sit and play in the dirt

She loved throwing it up in the air
Avery kept trying to climb up the slide

She loved sliding down
There is also a pretty good sized dog park at this park. The girls get such a kick out of watching the dogs run around and play. They used to be afraid of the loud barking, but seem to have gotten over that lately.

March wrap up

Another busy month... hoping that things will calm down after we move. Seems like there is so much to do and time goes by way too fast these days.

The girls spent a few weeks in March sharing colds. Just when the second one was through it, the first one got it back again. Avery seemed to get it the worst the second time around. Of course, she also doesn't handle being sick as well as Morgan. She always looks so pathetic when she's sick. :(

Grandma got the girls some Easter hats to play around in. They LOVE the hats!

We've had lots of visits with Grandma and Grandpa recently. They've been helping out my sister get her condo ready to sell and also helping us get some things fixed around our condo that were identified in the inspection. The girls love spending time with their G&G! Grandpa has fun games on his phone and plays magic tricks! Grandma has the best jewelry and loves to cuddle!

The girls love boxes right now. Lucky for them, we are moving and have lots of boxes laying around!
