Medal Week at Gymnastics

The girls have been taking tumbling at a nearby gymnastics place. Right before break, they handed out medals to all the kids. They did a little ceremony announcing each kid and having them pose on the podium. Morgan was sick, so she was sitting out, but they still gave her a medal.

Gymnastics

We tried out the park district's summer gymnastics program the past 6 weeks. The girls liked the class and seemed to have fun. They got to work on the balance beam, bars, trampoline and floor. They really liked the coaches as well. It was perfect for them since I am pretty sure neither will become a professional gymnast. :)

Gymnastics

We started back up with gymnastics to get us out of the house this winter. The girls are now in a class without parents. So, Matt and I get to watch, instead of participating. :) The coach is the same as the one we had last winter for the toddler class. The girls liked him, so they were happy to see him again!

Gymnastics

Gymnastics is going very well for the girls. During the second class, Avery started participating more and loved it. This past class, she did everything along with all the other kids! She had a blast!

I love Grayson's face in this picture - he's having a blast getting flipped by the "coach"

Morgan waiting patiently for the coach to flip her - ha!

These three goobers ran up to the trampoline and waited impatiently until the coach gave them permission to go

This is the first time Avery got up on the trampoline track

Gymnastics

This past weekend, the girls started gymnastics class with their cousin Grayson. I predicted that Morgan would love it and Avery would hate it. And that was so true. Morgan loves any sort of activity that allows her to burn off energy, so she had a blast. Avery is shy and very reserved in new situations. If it had just been the four of us there, she would've loved it. But, since it was a big group of people she didn't know, she mostly just sat back and took it all in. Plus, Avery has a sore wrist from some unknown injury and I think she was tentative about doing anything to hurt it more. I'm hoping over the course of the session, Avery will start to feel more comfortable and enjoy the class more.
