Choo-choo

The girls love talking about the "choo-choo" and tell me every morning how Daddy rides the choo-choo. I think they think that Matt is on the train all day. Morgan even told me that when they go to the big girl school, she's going to ride the choo-choo to get to school. Considering, we live only a few blocks from their kindergarten, I think she's going to be disappointed to find out we'll be walking.

The other day I was at the mall and decided to let the girls ride the little train. I figured they'd get a kick out of it. They were so excited waiting in line. They had their tickets ready to hand to the lady. They ran up and got into the purple car. Then, a little boy also came up and got into the purple car. Unfortunately, that little boy had a complete meltdown before the train even started moving. Avery just stared at him like "what is wrong with you". Morgan decided he must know something she doesn't and also proceeded to have a meltdown. So, Morgan and the little boy got off the train and Avery rode around once by herself. But, of course, after Morgan saw that Avery was ok, she wanted back on the train. And Avery wanted off. So, then Morgan got to ride around on the train by herself. Maybe next time, they will ride together.

She looks so confused in there by herself

"Snowy" the Snowman

Thought I posted this a couple weeks ago, but I guess not.

Matt and the girls made our first snowman in the backyard. The girls named the snowman "Snowy". They also had fun having Matt pull them around the yard in the sled. :)

By the next morning after Snowy was built, the weather had warmed up and Snowy had melted and toppled over. When the girls came downstairs for breakfast, they both started saying "uh-oh" and pointing to Snowy. I asked them what happened and they told me that Daddy had popped Snowy. Guess they thought it was a big balloon or something.

Friday night blog update

Matt is off watching basketball and the girls are in bed asleep (well, almost asleep), so I am taking a minute to post a few pictures. :)

My sister sent me a picture she snapped at gymnastics a few weeks ago. I had to laugh. Erin was taking a picture of Grayson and you can see Avery and me in the background. I was also taking a picture of Avery... right before she tumbled!

Just a second later - action shot!
Since we live so close to Brookfield Zoo now, we decided to become members this year. We took advantage of the nice weather last weekend and visited the zoo. I think Morgan's favorite animal was the kangaroo, mainly because there is an episode of Little Einsteins she loves that has a baby kangaroo. I was glad that she wasn't scared of all the animals. Our trip to the petting zoo last fall was a nightmare because she was afraid of everything. Glad that stage is over!

Seems like time is flying by this year! I'm really hoping the weather gets warmer and we can start wearing jackets instead of big winter coats! I'm so ready for trips to the park and play time in the backyard!

The girls were so excited to go on the swings - they kept giggling

Morgan had a blast playing outside, too
Sometimes, random stuff happens around the house and I snap pictures. Here are a few of those pictures courtesy of Avery.

Avery doesn't even know how creepy this was

Thirsty girl

Seriously never going to get this girl off the binky

A few pictures from the past week or so...

We were supposed to go out of town two weeks ago to meet up with Matt's family in Indiana for a long winter fun weekend. But, as we were picking the girls up from daycare on that Friday afternoon, car all packed up ready to head out of town, we got a call from their teacher that both girls were sick and running fevers. Ugh. Poor kiddos! So, instead of that fun weekend away, we spent the weekend cuddling at home with the girls. We should have known... Grayson had come home sick from school the day before. It was making it's way through their classroom. :(

Lots of couch and Kindle time

The girls love cuddling with Daddy

Still managed a smile even though she felt yucky

I'm sure this is just as comfortable as it looks
Yesterday, we took the girls to see a Disney Jr. Pirates and Princesses show at the Rosemont Theater. The girls made it through the princesses portion (Sofia the First). Once the pirates started and Jake came on the stage, they were done. It didn't help that they had taken a super short nap and were crazy tired. Instead of watching the show, they wanted to run up and down the stairs in the theater. Matt sure got a workout chasing them around. Ha!

Today, we went over to Grayson's house for a morning playdate. We were trying to keep the kiddos on schedule even though the time changed. They always get so worn out playing with Grayson and taking care of the babies. Good naps follow! :)

Reading!

Avery reading to her cousin

Just catching up on her stories
The girls have started playing Connect Four. And by playing, I mean they see how fast they can fill up the game with the tokens. Avery always has to be yellow. She's the boss!

Morgan is such a smiley silly kid! She loves getting her picture taken - total opposite of Miss Avery!
