Ugly Sweater Day

The girls had "ugly sweater day" this week at school. Avery thought it was so silly to call these sweaters ugly because she thought hers was adorable. :)

Tis the Season

One of my favorite ways to warm up in the winter...

Decorating!

We did our annual cookie and gingerbread house decorating this past weekend. Grandma Ruth came over to help out. So messy, but so fun!

Polar Express

We went on the Polar Express at Union Station again this year. Such a fun time and gets us in the Christmas spirit. We met up ahead of time with Bridget and Mia for brunch at a place called Brunch. The girls haven't seen Mia in a bit, but they acted like they were old BFF's. :)

The girls had been reading the book at school and even did an art project where they drew the Polar Express with oil pastels.

We got out golden tickets and headed to the train. My dad was up visiting while my sister was in Rochester getting some shopping done. On the train ride, there are actors that acted out the Polar Express story. They brought out hot chocolate and sugar cookies. Then, Santa visited and handed out bells to everyone. After that, we sang a few Christmas songs before arriving back at Union Station.

Morgan got picked again to walk up the aisle and sing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. :)

After all the excitement, the kids all crashed on the ride back out to the 'burbs.

Blackberry Farm

We went out to Blackberry Farm in Aurora for their holiday festival. We got there a little before dark so we could enjoy some of the daytime activities, then stayed for the lights and holiday train ride. It was chilly, but definitely got us in the holiday spirit! Any chance the girls get to do crafts, eat popcorn and drink hot chocolate is the best day!

The old schoolhouse at the end was the perfect place to warm up. They had a wood burning stove inside! The girls got a kick out of what school rooms used to look like. This is way different than what their classroom looks like! :)
