Cold
Avery picked up a nasty cold from her Girl Scout camp out. Poor thing was totally stuffed up and not feeling well. She ended up staying home from school for two days. Of course, to be on the safe side, we went and got a COVID test. She didn't have a fever or any "official" symptoms of COVID, according to the school. But, we still wanted to be sure she was ok to return to school. We went through a drive thru location that did a throat test. So, it was pretty quick and easy. We got the results back in 6 hours! And it was a PCR test, not a rapid test.

Weekend
Started the weekend off with a soccer game. And look what was the best part... an ice cream truck stopped by the parking lot! He knows where to go!
Grayson and Morgan getting ready to ride the swings
These swings go WAY high in the sky!
Morgan's other favorite ride - she rode this like 7 times
Large obstacle course
Selfie on the hay ride
You can see the carnival rides in the background
Morgan spent SO much time at the petting zoo
With the bunny
Finished off the day with a blue snow cone!
We also celebrated Erin's birthday with pizza and cupcakes!

Soccer practice
Our soccer team is working on a lot of things this year. 3rd grade soccer has so many changes and it's taking some time to get used to everything. Tonight we were working on defending the goal and kicking the ball AWAY from the goal towards the sideline. :)

Puppy Kindergarten
Milo started training class at Doggie Depot near our house this week. He did great! He was exhausted when he got home. :)

Block party
The block next to ours had a party on Saturday. Since we are in the middle of two streets, they invited us as well. It was a hot day, but nice to meet some of the 3rd Street neighbors. One of our neighbors, Mike (who has the golden retrievers that Morgan and Avery love!), is in a band, so they played at the block party. They were really good! And I found out he has a brother who plays in a pretty famous Chicago blues band. Kind of cool!
The fire department showed up with a truck for the kiddos to check out. So much fun!
This is one of our babysitters, Hope, with the girls and Milo (and another neighbor girl Addie). Hope is Lily's younger sister. Lily is off to college, so she wasn't at the block party.

Relaxing Labor Day
We didn't too much for Labor Day. Avery and I did a little shopping with my mom and Erin in the morning.
We walked around the neighborhood and saw a bunch of monarch butterflies!
Then, we went to the park the girls practice soccer at for a bit. Fun times on the zip line...
We got a little training in for Milo!
Birthday cookout
We had a cookout at Erin's house and celebrated Labor Day and my birthday with everyone. The weather was gorgeous, so we took Milo and he hung out on the back deck. Mostly slept. Ha! He's pretty chill. He loves attention!
We have cupcakes and strawberry pie! I had lots of help blowing out the candles!
I'm not even sure how she got blue icing on her cheek!

Busy Saturday!
We packed a lot into our Saturday!
We started off with a girls' mani/pedi day. Morgan got blue polish! Avery and I got different shades of pink. :)
We have been trying to take Milo on walks. It gets more successful each time. This time, we got to the end of the block and he laid down and rolled over for a belly rub. Ha!
Here we are back on the sidewalk, up and walking!
Family selfie!
In the afternoon, the girls and I checked out the carnival at Ty Warner Park. It was pretty small, with just a few rides and games. Lots of booths for food and BBQ, so I think that was a main draw. Morgan rode the kids dragon roller coaster and the ferris wheel.
They put her with another group of kids so she wasn't by herself. (Avery wouldn't ride this, so we watched down below).
Of course, Morgan loved it! That's her waving at the top!
Then, we played a couple of games.
After the carnival, we met up at the park with the cousins and my parents. They were in town for the holiday weekend and had picked up Nolan and Calvin to stay at Erin's house for the night. So, all the cousins got to hang out together.
There was a baseball game going on with Papa.
Morgan just running around... never stops moving!
The other cousins playing on the park equipment.
Such a fun day! We were all exhausted by the end of the day!
