Sammy Fund Golf Tournament

Matt and I were able to get back to Quincy this year for the annual golf tournament after missing it for three years due to Morgan's soccer tournaments. It was fun to see everyone again! Matt took the train to Quincy Thursday night so he could golf on Friday with everyone. I drove down Friday after my parents got to DG to watch the girls. I made it into town around 5:00-ish. We went to Steve and Cathy's house on Friday night for a little party. On Saturday, Matt golfed again and I did a little shopping. I met up with him and we grabbed a few drinks at Karen and Jay's house. They were having a class reunion for Chuck's class this same weekend, so most of the people were at Jay's house for that. We went out for dinner Saturday night to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the games. Chuck and June had some class reunion stuff going on, so they weren't available. We started off Sunday morning at Chuck and June's house for Bloody Mary's, courtesy of Matt. Then, we went to the golf course for the tournament. The weather was gorgeous! While Matt was golfing, I did a little more shopping and relaxed at the hotel. I did meet up with the pizza delivery guy around 2:30 at the golf course to get that all set up. After the tournament, we hung out at the golf course for a bit and then went out to Chuck and June's house. They picked up Korean food from a new place by them, Seoul to Soul - very good food! Always such a fun weekend! I'm glad we were able to get back this year to enjoy it!

All of my pictures were from Sunday...

Sammy Fund weekend

We went down to Quincy again this year for the Sammy Fund Golf Tournament. We got to see Chuck and June's new house! June was gone the first few days at a wedding out of town, but flew back on Sunday morning just in time to see the golfers finish up the tournament. As always, it's a fun weekend hanging out with family and friends. Matt gets to golf a lot and I get to do a little shopping! :) And of course, the girls have a blast hanging out with Mama and Papa for the weekend!

No Bloody Mary bar at the house, so we went out to Thyme Square for breakfast and Bloody Mary's!

While everyone was golfing, I was on pizza pick-up duty - 15 pizzas!

Ross, his Dad, his brother and his brother's friend were on a team

June has a picture that Avery drew up on their fridge!

And here are some pics we got of the girls over the weekend...

Avery and Papa working on breaking open the geodes she got for her birthday. Papa is pretty brave to put his hand there!

Sandi and Brett came over and the kiddos all decorated cookies... well, most of them were decorating. Morgan may have been eating along the way! :)

Then, they all got McDonald's!

Grayson, Morgan and Avery bottle flipping on the deck with Milo just watching.

One day they got pizza and watched the new Addams Family movie.

Aunt Erin curled Avery's hair. She wanted to try out a Hermione Granger hairdo for her upcoming Halloween costume.

It worked! Her hair was super curly!

Apparently, while Erin was curling Avery's hair, these two goobers found a dead mouse on the side of the house. Yuck!

Living her best life... extra whipped cream for her pancakes! They ate out at the Harvest!

And of course, we Facetimed with the girls... :)

Sammy Fund Weekend

This year was a little different, but we were still able to go to the Sammy Fund and spend the weekend in Quincy with my family and their friends. The girls stayed in Downers Grove and had a blast hanging out with Mama and Papa (my parents). I'll post some pictures from that later.

Matt took the train down on Thursday night so he could get in some more golf. I drove down on Friday after my parents got up to DG.

The weather was amazing the whole weekend! Warm and sunny! Matt got to golf a few times and we spent a lot of time hanging out with my uncle, aunt and friends (mostly outside and socially distanced, of course!) I did a little shopping while Matt golfed. I didn't take too many pictures throughout the weekend.

My uncles' friends held their annual Saturday night party, but with a few less people and everyone was outside.

Sammy Fund Weekend

The annual Sammy Fund golf tournament was the second weekend of October. We always drop the kids off at Grandma and Grandpa's for the weekend and we spend the weekend in Quincy. This year, Matt took the train down early on Friday morning since the kids had school and he wanted to get in a little extra golf that day.

The girls love spending the weekend with Mama and Papa. The Sammy Fund seems to coincide every year with the Indian Summer festival in Springfield, which the girls really look forward to going to. There are crafts, face painting, worms, fairy houses, etc. at this festival. So, there's something for everyone.

While they were having fun with the grandparents, we were having fun in Quincy. I always get some shopping done, while Matt gets to play golf. There's usually a party at a friend's house that is a fun time, too. And we hit up the bowling alley for a gigantic pork tenderloin sandwich (well, Matt has that!) Matt always makes his famous Bloody Mary's before the golf tournament.
