Airplane

The girls have been playing "airplane" where they pack up their bags and pretend to go to an airport, scan through security (aka - stand in the pantry) and then take the escalator (aka the stairs) to the plane. When they scan, they shut the doors to the pantry and then say in a robotic voice "no weapons, you are safe" and then they go on their way. Ha!

Zoom ballet

Avery likes to do her ballet zoom class in the classroom because there is more space than my bedroom. We moved out the desks and brought a mirror in for her.

Bowling... again

On Friday, Anneke, the girls and I met up with Erin, Audrey and the boys for a bit of bowling. The kids had such fun last weekend that we decided to go again. This time, the adults bowled on one lane and the kiddos bowled on the other. I hadn't bowled in such a long time! It was so fun! I brought my bag with my ball and shoes. And in the bottom of the bag was my old bowling shirt! :) The kids had some pink lemonade and got to play a few games in the arcade before we had to head home.

Tie Dye

Curler silliness

We found some curlers and Avery wanted to try them out. :)

Not even sure what brought on this silliness... or the outfit choices. Hmmm.

Bowling fun

We decided to get out of the house and do some bowling. It's been a while since the kids bowled and they loved it! They also loved the pink lemonade and the arcade! Erin is still the "claw" game champ! On the way home from the bowling alley, Avery said to me "maybe you and Aunt Erin can go to the bowling alley sometime and you can practice the claw game with her". Ha!

Girls' Night

The girls and I had a "girls' night" with all sorts of fun things! We tie-dyed, hair-dyed, watched movies, played games, stayed up late (well, after 9pm - ha!) and slept in the living room together on the couch. It was really fun!

The next day we finished up our tie-dye adventures with sweatshirts. We let Daddy help us with this!

 

Science time at the Wilkens'

We had a playdate at the boys' house this morning. We got out a bunch of the science stuff the boys got for Christmas. We made snow and played with sand that didn't get wet!

Bring a friend to ballet

They had "bring your friend" week at Avery's ballet class, so Morgan was Avery's special guest. :) Morgan used to do ballet, but isn't really that interested in it anymore. She had a fun time with Avery, though. Not sure she's ready to sign back up, but that's ok!

School Day

We walked to school this morning... it was a little chilly! They both carried their back-packs the whole way to school. These things weigh a ton right now! They have all their books, supplies, iPads and water bottles in them each day! We can't leave anything at school right now. So, we take it to/from each day.

Game night

We played "Line-Up", a new game the girls got from Ruth for Christmas. It was fun. You had to pick your card out of a line-up of possible suspects that all look almost the same.

Stand-off!

Came downstairs this morning and saw this... a stand-off between the superheroes. Not sure who left them like this, but it made me smile!

 

New 'do

So, we got a little bored here and decided to break out the hair color again. :)

This time, we first bleached the bottom of Morgan's hair so you could see the color better. Don't worry, she's been talking about getting her hair cut forever. So, I figured if we totally messed it up, we could just get it cut off. Ha!

Avery has pink with purple on the tips of her hair. Morgan has aquamarine. Both turned out really great!

Snow Angels and Snowball Fight

We got outside a little bit and had a snowball fight at the park. I didn't bring any gloves, so I was at a pretty big disadvantage! The girls made snow angels and caught snowflakes!

 

Playdate with the boys

The boys came over for a playdate. We set up an "Among Us IRL" game for them around the house. There were little tasks to do and we had cards to tell them who was the Impostor and who were the Crewmates. They had a blast!

And then we did these cute little crafts.

 

Snowmen

My little ballerina

She's doing ballet at home over Zoom right now. We can go into class if we want, so she has gone in person as well. But, sometimes on Friday nights, she just wants to stay home. That's one of the benefits of the pandemic, I guess.
