Legally Blonde Jr - Final Show

The final show was today (Sunday). Avery was really sad that the show was ending. She's had such a fun time with the girls and her roles in the show.

And that's a wrap on Legally Blonde, Jr! Avery had a great time and is already looking forward to the next show... she's becoming a theater geek - ha! And it's so fun to watch her shine on stage!

Legally Blonde Jr - the second show!

On Saturday night, we had a huge cheering section for Avery's show! My parents, Ruth, my aunts Amy and Lucy, my uncle Dan, my friends from high school JJ and Crystal joined me, Matt and Morgan to watch Avery's show. The show was great! All of the girls (and one boy!) did amazing! The audience loved it! Avery said to me she had so much fun and the cast was really excited by how into the show the audience was! I think it also helped that we made her eat before the show tonight! :)

Opening Night!

Rehearsals during the week were long and exhausting! Things finally started coming together on Thursday night, which is good since opening night was Friday night. Avery was so nervous and decided not to eat before the show, which turned out to be a bad idea (of course!) By intermission, she was feeling really sick and was starving! She made it through the show, but we had to stop at the McDonald's drive through on the way home! :)

It's Tech Week!!!

We're counting down until opening night! This week Avery has rehearsals every night to prep for the big weekend of three shows! She's so excited!

Legally Blonde, Jr.

On Thursday night, the Academy of Music and Art held auditions for Legally Blonde, Jr. This is the same company Avery did Willy Wonka, Jr with and really enjoyed it. So, she wanted to do their next musical, which ended up being Legally Blonde, Jr. We watched the movie and also a few versions of the Jr musical on Youtube that schools had done to prepare. 

Then, on Saturday, they held callbacks for a few of the larger roles. Avery got called back to read for three different parts. The callbacks went over two hours! They sent out the final cast list later that day around 5:00. She's really excited to be playing the role of Pilar, Elle's Delta Nu sister. And she got named as a Dance captain, which she thinks means she will help the choreographer work with the other kids to learn the dances. The girls (and one boy) that are part of the show are all really fun and she gets along well with them. So, she's looking forward to rehearsals starting soon!
