Saturday

Today started off with some yard work for Daddy, which meant digging for worms for Morgan.

Then, the girls and I went to the farmer's market. We always get fresh squeezed lemonade, fresh donuts and sometimes kettle corn. Today, we picked up some flowers and peppers as well.

We decided to go to the zoo for a couple of hours after that. Since the weather was overcast, the zoo wasn't too crowded. We saw the monkeys, snakes, watched the dolphin show and rode the carousel. We packed a lot in for a short amount of time!

Morgan was so excited to wear her tiger shirt today and get a picture next to the tiger!

Loves dogs!

Real or fake - it doesn't matter!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day weekend started off with a program at the girls school. They sang some songs and then we got to have ice cream sundaes. Yum!

On Sunday, the girls made me breakfast in bed (with a little help from Daddy). They were so excited about sharing breakfast with me in bed! They each picked out cards for me. Avery's had flowers and was beautiful, of course. Morgan's was exactly what I'd expect from her...

The girls got me a beautiful flower arrangement and a jar filled with little cards that had nice sayings on them - you read a little card a day for a smile :). Sweet!

(Thanks to Daddy for helping the girls make it a special day for me!)

Bedtime

This is NOT how you get kids to calm down right before bedtime... unless you are Daddy!

Learned something new

Another wedding

This time, Matt and I went to a wedding for a coworker while the girls stayed home with Mama and Papa. The wedding was in Wisconsin, so it was a nice little getaway for us. It's always fun to have a night out with grown-ups!

While we were partying in Wisconsin, the girls were having a blast with their cousins and grandparents.

Apparently, anything goes clothes-wise when Mama lets them get dressed

They took all the kiddos to McD's play place for dinner

Emily's Wedding

My former neighbor from when I lived in Rochester was getting married, so I took the girls with me to Rochester for the weekend for her wedding. The girls love weddings - the party dresses and the music and dancing - so much fun! And now they have something else to add to the list of reasons they love weddings - Shirley Temples! The bartender asked if they would like one and I said sure - they were hooked! Who wouldn't love all that sugar in a drink! :)

Morgan snapped a picture of Mama and Papa dancing

There was a park outside

The girls were giving Papa a run for his money on the dance floor

They spent about half the time on the floor - ha!

I think they were trying to take him down!

Beautiful sunset

Not too many single ladies, so the girls got in on the bouquet toss

Avery was vicious and came out a winner!
She was really tired by this point if you can't tell!

We spent some time at my parents house hanging out. I had to do some work, so my parents took the girls on walks and to the library. They love spending time with Mama and Papa. There was a lot of excitement at their house this time because the baby birds were hatching. A mother bird had made a nest in the wreath on my parents' front door and laid eggs (yikes!).

This was from the trip to the library. It's like they are 25 and having coffee together - ha!

My mom's friend dropped off some bikes for the girls to ride around the neighborhood on. The weather was gorgeous!

Spelling is not my thing apparently

So, I thought it would be fun to send a birthday picture to Ruth for her birthday in April. I wrote on a big sheet of paper and had the girls decorate it. We took tons of pictures. Just as I was getting ready to hit send on the pictures, I noticed something...

Do you see it?

Notice anything wrong here???
Yep, missing the "H" in birthday! Ugh! I can't believe I did that. So, I made another (correctly spelled) sign and had the girls decorate that. We took more pictures the next day. Ha!

Happy Birthday Grandma Ruth!

Great Wolf Lodge

We spent a weekend up in the Dells at Great Wolf Lodge water park. Morgan is a dare devil and loves going down all the water slides. Avery is more like me and enjoys NOT going down all the scary water slides. She loves the wave pool, lazy river and the hot tub. That's my girl!

My whole family came along, so the girls had lots of cousins to play with.

At the end of the weekend, there was a huge snowstorm! Our drive home for the first hour was not fun, but we made it! Ross and Erin ended up with car trouble and had to stay another night. I'm sure they weren't thrilled, but their kids were happy! :)
