Mother's Day

We had a busy Mother's Day weekend with the dance competition and soccer games. I got to spend the weekend with my favorite people! The girls made me breakfast in bed (well, Matt made it, but they carried it upstairs into the room - ha!)

In my Dance Mom Era - ha!

Dog Mom - he's the biggest baby in the house!

Soccer Mom!

The girls and I grabbed an afternoon snack at Gia Mia after Morgan's soccer game. And then they got ice cream from Every Day's a Sundae.

It was beautiful weather and so nice to spend some time with the girls! :)

Mother's Day Fun

The girls got me some beautiful flowers and Morgan made me a pretty wine bottle with lights! They didn't get to do their traditional breakfast in bed because Morgan had an early soccer game 45 minutes away.

Her team ended up winning!

Selfie after the game!

We went to Parker's for the Jazz Brunch. They have New Orleans style food and a jazz band walks around playing music. The girls liked their fancy drinks! We also got an order of beignets and they were huge fans!

Later that day, Grandma Ruth came over for dinner and we sat out back enjoying the gorgeous weather. It was even warm enough that the girls decided to get the hose out. They used their tumble track as a slip-n-slide!

Mother's Day / Soccer Sunday Recap

For Mother's Day, the girls made me breakfast in bed (and by girls, I mean Matt made the food and the girls carried it in the room!) They did ask me how to make my coffee like three times! Matt doesn't drink coffee, so no one else knows how to work the machine, I guess! :)

We had a surprisingly relaxing morning and didn't have anything to do until the afternoon. Then, of course, it was off to the soccer games! The girls both had games at 3:30. Avery's game was in the city (like South Loop Chicago). Morgan's game was in Glen Ellyn. I ended up taking Avery and Matt took Morgan. I think I got more rained on than he did! :) And I also had to fight traffic during a 50 minute drive home afterwards. Boo!

Both girls' teams lost, unfortunately. I did remember to take a few pics of Avery! She's #44.

Mother's Day

The girls treated me to breakfast in bed for Mother's Day! Avery designed my pancake! :) Then, we went for a walk at Gilbert Park to enjoy the sunshine in the afternoon!

Soccer Saturday

Another soccer game is in the books... I can't remember the score or how many goals Morgan scored (sorry... catching up for the past two months on blog posts and everything is blending together!) Morgan is competitive and is usually not far from the ball. She wants to be scoring! Her coach is having them work on footwork and doing new moves to get the ball away from the other team. She does pretty well at them and tries them out during the games. It's fun to watch her! She is fast and tends to run hard until she's exhausted! She also ends the game starving... this kid needs her food!

Speaking of food, we hit up the farmer's market after the game. The donut guy was back, so we had to get some!

That afternoon, Morgan was watching her iPad for a bit and I went in to check on her because she was being so quiet. Guess all the soccer wore her out!

Later, Grandma Ruth stopped by to celebrate Mother's Day with us!

Quarantine Day 59: Mother's Day

We had a really nice Mother's Day today! I got some beautiful flowers!

The girls (mostly Matt) made me breakfast in bed. In full disclosure, since I have been sleeping with the girls, I moved from their room to mine for the official breakfast. So, it wasn't a total surprise. And, I had to wait for this sleepyhead to wake up before I could eat. Doesn't she know the mom is supposed to get to sleep in on Mother's Day, not the kid?!? :)

We actually let the girls eat upstairs in the bedroom, too, for fun. They sat at my make-shift office. Ha!

Avery and I spent some time working on a "worry" workbook this morning. I mentioned before that she's been having quite a bit of anxiety lately and this book was recommended. Her anxiety is mostly health related, so it's definitely elevated right now. The book was alarmingly accurate in describing how she's feeling and how we're reacting to her. So, we're hoping a few of the methods it suggests will help her with her worries. Fingers crossed!

Later, the boys came for a playdate.

These two are always up to something!

Then we played a whole house game of hide-n-seek. The kids are getting really good at hiding and it takes much longer to find them these days!

Hunter is lucky he's little... we walked past him twice without seeing him under the shelf!

Grayson was the last to be found one round... he hid in our laundry room cabinet.

Morgan hid in her bathroom cabinet next time.

Before the boys left, Grayson and Morgan had to have a headstand contest. These two are great at headstands. Morgan spends a lot of time upside down. :)

Mother's Day

Mother's Day weekend started off with a program at the girls school. They sang some songs and then we got to have ice cream sundaes. Yum!

On Sunday, the girls made me breakfast in bed (with a little help from Daddy). They were so excited about sharing breakfast with me in bed! They each picked out cards for me. Avery's had flowers and was beautiful, of course. Morgan's was exactly what I'd expect from her...

The girls got me a beautiful flower arrangement and a jar filled with little cards that had nice sayings on them - you read a little card a day for a smile :). Sweet!

(Thanks to Daddy for helping the girls make it a special day for me!)
