Long Day

What a long day ... after getting hardly any sleep last night, I must have been really out this morning. I somehow managed to turn off my alarm in my sleep. I was supposed to meet up with Dan and Sue to head to work around 7:30am. About 7:45am, I woke up to the phone ringing and them calling me to see where I was. OOPS! So, needless to say, I scrambled around getting ready and managed to get on the train and made it to the office in time for the training.

Since I was in such a hurry, I didn't have time to grab breakfast and I was starving. A really nice girl in the training offered me one of her "sandwiches" to eat. I wasn't quite sure what was on it (Dan and I thought it might be peanut butter), but she said it was some sort of "meat spread" she had in a can in her fridge. I took a few bites and decided it had to be the Dutch version of spam. Food is so different here. : (

Tonight, we went to dinner at a restaurant named KIP (one of my favorite Dutch words!). It means "chicken". Ironically, none of us actually ordered chicken. Everyone had halibut except for me... I got the venison.

Then when I got back to my room, I finally got the free robe I was promised as part of the "girls getaway" package I had booked with my room (it was cheaper than just getting a regular room!). The robe is awesome... a little big, but super comfy!

Tomorrow morning, I am heading to Amsterdam (with all my luggage) to meet up with the apartment rental agency to get the keys to my new apartment. I can't wait to check it out!

So jet lagged...

So they say that jetlag is worse the second day. So true! I can not sleep at all and it's 3am local time. I'm contemplating doing a shot of something from the mini-bar to see if that helps. And at this time of night, there is nothing in English on the TV. Lucky for me I brought along the portable DVD player. Here's what I'm watching (see pic)... I love the Golden Girls. : ) Hopefully this will help!
