The girls are enjoying their softball league. The weather is finally cooperating so they can have some more games! The girls got to play "pitcher" (who just stands by the other team's coach pitching) and catcher for an inning the other night. Morgan loved being the catcher. She chatted up the other team's coach who was standing behind her, who got quite a kick out of their conversation. I swear, that kid will talk to anyone!
Morgan is fast! Here she is racing to first base... it was called a tie, which goes to the runner! :)

Last Race Day
The running series the girls were in finished up last weekend. We finally had a nice day for a race! We've had mostly rainy, muddy races that have been less than fun for the girls. They were really excited this week because they got medals at the end of the race. This was a nice introduction to running and I'm glad they made progress along the way.
On the walk home, Avery said she was feeling happy and proud of herself. :) That's all we can ask as the outcome for some of these experiences... is to expose them to something new and build their confidence that they can do things they've never done before!

Memorial Weekend
On Saturday, we lucked out in the morning with some dry weather. We walked through the farmer's market and picked up some lemonade and fresh donuts. So good! We also ran into some of the girls' friends from school.
Then, we went to Wannamakers to pick up our flowers for the year. The girls love this store. Then, we came home and planted them... just in time for the rain to start.
Later that day, the sun came back out and we headed over to Erin's house to swim and play in the backyard.
On Sunday, we headed out to Crystal Lake to celebrate Calvin's 2nd birthday. Lots of cousin fun and even a pinata! The girls played hard and crashed in the car on the way back home.
On Sunday, we spent the morning and lunch at the Wilkens. Then, Grandma Ruth came over to our house for a cookout in the afternoon. That cookout was a bust thanks to a downpour. Matt ended up using the sous vide for the burgers and they turned out great.
Here are a couple of Memorial Day cuties (and their "dog" Crystal)...

Daddy's little helper
Avery loves helping out in the kitchen. She got to help with the sous vide, but wanted to make sure she could wear the glove so her hand wouldn't touch the raw meat!
