Holidays at the Double J

Erin signed the kiddos up for a tour of the Double J and a visit with Santa this past weekend. She was in Rochester with my mom Christmas shopping/wrapping/cooking, but my Dad was up in DG helping Ross out with the boys. So, the girls and I joined Ross, my Dad and the boys for the tour. It was pouring up until our outdoor tour started, but managed to stop raining for the hour we were outside. :)

Feeding the tortoise

Petting the albino leopard gecko

Learning about pot-bellied pigs

Learning about turkeys
Avery asked "Is this the same kind of turkey we ate at Thanksgiving?" :)

Chickens!

The kids got to feed them mealworms

I was surprised Avery did it!

Getting ready to feed the sheep

Morgan loves all animals - even dirty, wet sheep. :)

Feeding the horses candy canes

Morgan loved this horse - it neighed after we left - I think it missed her!

Socially distanced visit with Santa

Feeding Billy the Goat

Then they put a Christmas sweater on him! :)

It was a little dreary, but still a fun time. The kids have all been to camp there a few times, so all the questions they were asking about the animals, all the kids knew the answers!

Frozen Shoulder

So, somehow I managed to really mess up my shoulder. I don't even remember hurting it. It started bothering me in early September. By the end of September, it was super painful and I could barely move it. So, I went to the doctor and she sent me to Physical Therapy. I've been going to PT twice a week for almost two months now. I've definitely improved, but still not back to normal. It's super frustrating. My physical therapist is Emma and she's really great. I seriously wish I could just go every morning and have her work on my shoulder because it feels so good after I leave! Plus at the end of each session, they give you these weighted heating pads that are awesome!

Saturday Evening Post

As part of an assignment for school, the girls had to first brainstorm some ideas to give a picture of what is going on in the world today.

Then, they had to draw a picture.

Such a strange and different time we live in right now. I can't even believe we've been doing this since March. It seems like it couldn't be THAT long, but it also seems like it's been forever since things were normal.

Zoom Ballet

Avery's ballet school offers classes in person or by Zoom. Avery decided to join the Zoom class instead of going in person. Such a different world we live in right now!

This clip is an improv session where the girls are just supposed to be reaching for snowflakes. :)

Back to school!

After a little hiatus, the girls are back to hybrid school! We had a few minutes before the doors opened, so of course we took some selfies in the car!

I'm happy they are back to in person school because they are much happier being able to get out of the house and see their teacher and friends. Even if it is for only 2.5 hours a day.

Zoo Lights

We visited the Brookfield Zoo for the Zoo Lights. We hadn't been to this before and were really surprised by all the Christmas Trees. We walked through the tunnel of lights and ate funnel cakes. Delicious! It was a great way to kick off the holiday season!

A video of us walking through the tunnel.
