A few pics of the girls

I took some pictures of the girls for our Christmas card... it's always fun trying to get Milo to cooperate for pictures! He thought we were playing!

Christmas Party

We had some friends over for a little holiday party, complete with ugly sweaters or whatever fun holiday attire they wanted to wear. Matt made brisket, which was delicious as usual. We took this picture to send to someone who couldn't make it. :)

Soccer

The indoor soccer league has a few weeks left. This week there was some confusion on what goal we were aiming for since there was a smaller goal within the big goal. So, when Morgan scored this goal, we all thought she had missed since it bounced off the goal post of the smaller goal inside the larger goal. After I turned off the camera, the referee pronounced it a goal and everyone cheered then! Ha!

I think despite the league being a little disorganized, it's been a good experience for the girls to get out and learn some new skills and play against the boys.

Orange belt testing

Today, Morgan had her orange belt testing. This is more involved than the last belts. She had to do an exam (luckily it was a take-home test this time) and write an essay about her favorite part of karate. They started off with some warm up exercises - 100 jumping jacks, 35 pushups, 80 sit-ups. They had four stations: forms, kicks, hands (blocks/punches), techniques. The higher belts get to spar at the end, but Morgan's level does not spar yet. And the last thing they get to do it break a board. Each level breaks it a different way. The lower belts first try to kick and break the board. If they can't, they move on to chop the board by hand or break it by stomping on it. This is what they do in class, too. Morgan had not been able to kick the board and break it before today. She was really excited to get it on her second try today!

Twinkle Toes is back!

Twinkle Toes made her appearance on December 1st to kick off the holiday season! She brought the girls their Advent calendars. Morgan's has fidgets and Avery's has jewelry.

One morning the girls woke up to find she had made a heart with a string of lights in our front room.

Another day, she dumped out ALL of our leftover Halloween candy on the dining room table!

I didn't take a picture of the day she left them squishies... but they were pretty happy with that!

Christmas cereals

We were trying to get as many new Christmas cereals as we could this season... but so far we've just tried three! Once we found the Christmas Crunch, we stopped buying different types! Ha! :)

This one is a fan favorite! We made Daddy buy a few boxes so we had back-up!

This one was NOT liked well in our house. It was way too sweet!

Morgan liked this one, but Avery was not a fan. Morgan liked it best when we added a little sugar to her bowl! :)

If we decide to try any others, I'll add them here. As of right now, we're stuck on the Christmas Crunch.

Face Paint day

Another Wednesday spirit day at school... this time it was face paint day. Probably a little harder since all the kids have to wear masks during school. I just painted little designs on the sides of the girls' faces and hoped the strap from their mask didn't mess it up too badly! I thought they turned out pretty good!
