It's NOT broken!

After four days of walking around in pain with a sore toe from a bouncy house injury at Uncle Brett's party, we decided to go get it checked out. We first saw the pediatrician to see what she thought and she recommended getting x-rays to rule out a broken toe. So, off to the immediate care we went.

This was supposed to be a thumbs up, but pretty much sums up her feelings about being at the doctor!

Luckily, it was not broken. She would have had to wear a boot for three weeks which would have put a big damper on all her upcoming plans. So we are all very happy with the outcome!

Telephone

The kiddos got to play for a few minutes in the bouncy house this morning. The company came to pick it up a few hours early, so not as long as they were hoping! We played at the park and then we all went out to lunch together. We lucked out and they opened up a back room for us and one other family. So, we didn't have to worry too much about disrupting the restaurant - ha! The kids played "telephone", you know how it goes... you tell someone a word and then each person relays what they heard to the next and at the end you see what word the last person heard. The kids had fun with this and we had some pretty interesting outcomes!

We all took naps after lunch! The girls went to a friend's house to jump on her new trampoline, then played at the park for a bit. It was gorgeous today!

Back to the daily grind tomorrow... at least its a short week with no school on Friday.

Surprise!

We surprised Brett with a 40th birthday party on Saturday at Erin's house. It was an 80's theme, since he was born in 1982. We had a blast getting dressed up! I think Avery would wear 80's clothes every day if she could. :) Erin had a bouncy house for the kiddos, so they spent most of the time in that. Matt smoked some pulled pork, so we all ate great!

We were in charge of decorations, so we picked out some fun things!

Avery wanted to get dressed for the party at 8am, but I made her wait. She did try a few things on in the morning, though. :)

We may have bought a few too many balloons - ha! Can you find Avery in this picture? At least she was able to breathe!

All ready to go!

Hany was able to come - I haven't seen her in 2 years!

Even when it got dark, they stayed out there with their glow sticks

Took a picture of ourselves in the balloon!

Leg warmers work well to keep arms warm, too!

And in true 80's fashion, we had a little breakdancing...

Belt testing

Morgan tested for her next belt - orange/green - and to move up to Level 2. They do these tests on Friday nights and all the Level 2 and higher belts test together when it's their turn (you test every 4-6 months depending on your belt level, so people are all on different testing schedules). Before the night, you do an exam online and write a short essay. On testing night, you go through 4 different stations and get judged by the black belts. Afterwards, everyone breaks a board and they do a graduation ceremony to hand out the new belts.

After she got her new belt!

The group that tested this month

Here's Morgan breaking her board. Each belt level has a different way they break the board. For Morgan's level, it's a palm strike.

Milo

We've been giving a bit more freedom when we are hanging out in the family room. He can't be trusted by himself after the carpet eating incident unfortunately.

He just likes to be near the girls...

We took him to the park and Morgan let him go down the slide with her. Not sure he really liked it - ha!

Spring Break - Urban Air and a fancy dinner out!

On Friday, we gave the girls a choice for the morning, so they picked a new play place to try out, Urban Air. We got there when it opened, but the place was severely understaffed and didn't get to start playing for about 30 minutes. The place has some trampolines, some climbing walls, an obstacle course, a zipline, go-karts and bumper cars. This all sounds super fun, but we weren't that impressed. The draw was the go-karts, but they were seriously terrible. Each group of kids that went spent most of their time stopped because none of them could get the go-karts to work properly. Every time the person running the go-karts had to help one person, the whole ride had to be shut down for safety reasons. So, both girls came off mad and upset that it wasn't more fun. The best part was the zipline, which both girls had fun riding on.

Friday night, we got dressed up and went out for a "fancy dinner" to celebrate the end of Spring Break (and to use the Super Bowl winnings Matt got from the squares - ha!) We went to Wildfire, mainly because they had a kids menu that I thought both kids could find something they would eat off of! They were the only kids at the restaurant on that Friday night, so they felt pretty special! :)

Silly picture!
