Band/Orchestra Camp and Dance Bootcamp

This week Morgan continued orchestra camp and Avery finally got her trumpet at band camp. She tried practicing on the first floor and Milo went nuts. He HATES the trumpet, more than he hates the piano and violin.

Avery also had dance boot camp to kick off her jazz team season.

Rainy day activity

It was a rainy day, so we picked up some Lego sets and the girls spent a few hours working on them.

New kicks!

Morgan needed some new soccer shoes, so Matt took her to Soccer 2000. She picked out these cool kicks!

Date night

We went out to dinner to celebrate Matt's birthday a little early since we were going to be on vacation on his actual birthday. Then we went to the local brewery by us because they were celebrating their anniversary with live music. Great weather and fun time!

Belt Testing

Morgan tested for her next belt at karate last night. She tests every 4 months. Similar to prior tests, they do 4 stations and the spar against each other. Then, they break boards and get their new belts. Morgan moved from brown belt to red/brown. The intermediate belts are striped.

Afterwards, we celebrated with a late dinner at Five Guys.

While we were at karate, Dad and Avery went out to City BBQ for Avery's favorite mac-n-cheese!

Orchestra Camp, Soccer, Voice camp

This week Morgan had orchestra kick-off camp and Avery had voice for musicals camp. Morgan also started soccer practice this week. She's now practicing 3 nights a week for 90 minutes each night. We also got our school supplies in and the girls had fun going through the massive list of things they need for 5th grade.

Milo is so cuddly!

On Friday, Morgan got to decorate her violin for orchestra.

Also on Friday, Avery's camp had a short performance for the parents. They sang some songs they had been working on during the week.

 

Pink Floyd fan?

We went shopping and Avery picked out this shirt... I looked at it and asked her "Do you even know who Pink Floyd is?" and she says "well, no, but I really like the colors!"
