Winter Piano Recital

Avery had her winter piano recital on Sunday. She played a piece called "The Harp" and then she played "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" from the Lion King. She did great! I was a little worried because she was kind of inconsistent when she practiced, but she was ready on the day of the recital. The boys also played songs (they all have the same piano teacher). Morgan was even inspired during the recital and said she wants to start piano lessons. I'm not so sure about that... but we'll see! Of course, she has a new thing she wants to do everyday!

Gingerbread houses with friends and a dance team party!

Morgan had a playdate at Lizzie's house and they made gingerbread houses. Hers was supposed to be a tree house, but turned out like a throne - ha! She had a great time! They had meatball subs for dinner, which we've never given her before. And then they had a fire outside and made s'mores!

While Morgan was doing that, Avery was at her dance team's holiday party. They played fun games and traded ornaments with their dance "sibling" (they each get assigned another team member for the year).

5th Grade Band Concert

The elementary school held a concert for the 5th and 6th grade bands this past week. There are a lot of kids in each band! They combine all the north side elementary bands into one for the concert.

And because this is Avery, we had a mini photo shoot before the concert to show off her fit. Her boots have like 2 inch heels on them, so she also had to practice walking around!

Merry Swiftmas!

We drove by the Taylor Swift house tonight in Naperville. A family has decorated their house with all things Taylor Swift! There's sections for several of her albums, a life-sized Taylor donning a Santa hat and Travis Kelce on the roof. Even a sign on the roof that says "Merry Swiftmas"! They were also playing her music outside.

We grabbed some hot chocolate and were planning to just drive around looking at lights. We headed over there to check it out. It was packed with lots of people waiting in line to take pictures in front of the house. We weren't originally going to get out of the car, but once we got there, the kids wanted to get a picture. The family did such a great job! They even had friendship bracelets around the trees!

Crepes!

Avery wanted to try crepes today and chose the nutella/banana/strawberry combo. She liked them, but decided they were way too sweet!

The Elf is back!

Twinkle Toes has returned for another Christmas season! So far, she has been very nice! She brought the girls their Advent Calendars and some Smencils! We'll see what kind of trouble she gets into this year!
