Cinderella - Show #2 and #3

The second show of Cinderella was on Saturday at 3:00. Matt and Morgan were able to join for this show because her Saturday game got changed to 7:15PM. Mary Alice and Lucy also came. We ended up with an extra ticket, so my mom came again.

For Cinderella Show #3, the other cast was on. So, Avery just had an ensemble role. Matt ended up just going to that show by himself. I went to Morgan's game with her. Her team ended up winning 7-0. It was a fun game! The win meant that they went straight through to the championship game, bypassing the early Sunday morning semi-finals game (thank goodness!)

Piano Competition

Not only was Avery doing Cinderella this weekend, she also had a piano competition on Saturday morning. She played the same song from her recital. She got 48 out of 50 points, which got her a 3rd place trophy. The judge wrote some really nice comments about her piano playing. We are all super proud of her!

Cinderella - Opening Night

Avery's shows for her cast were Friday at 7:00 and Saturday at 3:00. The other two shows were on Saturday at 7:00 and Sunday at 3:00. We spent Friday getting ready! The girls and I went with my mom to get manicures. Avery wanted a pink French manicure. They turned out beautiful!

Then, it was time for hair and make-up!

Avery had to be at the theater by 5:00 for her show. For opening night, my parents and Beckett and Matt's Mom, Ruth, joined me at the show. Also, Avery's friends Cara and Maebel came to watch. Matt and Morgan couldn't come because she ended up having a soccer game at the same time.

Avery as Joy, Colleen as Portia and Gianna as the Stepmother.

Here they are in their ball gowns.

Here's the ball scene where they all take turns dancing with the prince.

A Lovely Night -

The show went great! Here they are doing their curtain calls! Avery and Colleen came out as their characters fighting - ha!

Afterwards, we got pictures with Avery... she loves getting flowers!

Cinderella Tech Week

We made it to Tech Week for Avery's musical, Cinderella! Tryouts were back in early April and they had so many people try out that they ended up having two casts - the Pumpkin cast and the Glass Slipper cast! Avery is Joy, one of the stepsisters, in the Pumpkin cast. In the other cast, she is part of then ensemble.

Here she is ready with hair and make-up all done!

Pool Day!

We spent the afternoon at the pool and Ticer joined us. The kids had fun swimming and then enjoyed some sweet treats!

Swim team and soccer

Since school has been out, we have kept busy. On Thursday, the girls tried out for the swim team at DGSRC (our summer pool). They had to be able to swim two lengths of the lower pool. I assumed they could do it, but they had never attempted it before. Luckily, they both made it and are looking forward to participating this summer! Avery gave the new concession stand pizza a try. It was super cheesy and little more garlic than she likes, but she gave it a thumbs up!

Avery had a dance rehearsal for her upcoming recital. She is in two recitals this year, one for dance team and the other for her regular dance classes.

Saturday, we braved the nasty weather for a couple soccer games. Avery played in the morning and it was a steady rain the whole time. We had to leave at halftime so she could get to Cinderella rehearsal. Tech Week is kicking off and it's going to be busy! We found out her team tied 1-1.

Here's a video I took of Avery's game... just listen to that rain!

Here's our favorite player - #5

Avery's cheering section

Later in the day, we were at it again in Frankfort, IL where it drizzled and rained off and on for Morgan's game. Morgan wasn't feeling well during the game and sat out a lot of the first half. She did end up playing in the second half (her team only had 10 players, so they needed her!). She sucked it up and did great... she even scored a goal! Her team lost pretty badly 5-1.

The field conditions were not good!

When we got home, Morgan still wasn't feeling well. She was even running a fever, so she went to bed early. She was so tired!

On Sunday, Morgan had a soccer game at noon. Her team won 3-2 and she scored a goal! We celebrated afterwards with lunch and custard at Culver's.

It was Morgan's turn for the trophy this week!
