Dance team photo shoot
Here is Avery - all ready for her photo shoot! She had to be at the dance studio from 10:00 to 3:30 today for pictures. They took pictures in Ty Warner park. When we picked her up, they were doing pictures where they were spraying them with a hose! Can't wait to see how those turn out! :)

Pillow Jail
Milo was being very barky while Avery was trying to practice her piano, so instead of putting him in his house (aka the crate), she put him in "pillow jail". She put him on the couch with the blankets and covered him in the pillows. He just sat there frozen. He seemed like he actually liked it, because he laid all cozy in there for a while. Either way, he stopped barking and Avery finished her piano practice!

Labor Day park time
We relaxed on Labor Day. We took Milo for a walk and stopped off at the park. He is not a big fan of going down the slide! The girls keep trying, though. It was funny this time because he got all static-y on the way down!
Labor Day Fishing
Since Morgan's team didn't make it to the championship game in the tournament, we had a free Labor Day! Morgan and Matt went fishing with her new pole, but didn't catch anything. :(

Chicago Cup Tournament - G2012
The 2012 team had a tournament this past weekend - Chicago Cup. So, this was the first time the 2012 girls were playing together on the bigger field with 11 players. They have a few new team members this year and their goalie left.
Game #2 - Sunday 9:20AM vs Chicago FC United: Win 9-0. The girls played so well this game. The other team was playing up, so we had an advantage. Morgan played goalie the first half. She had an amazing save where a girl got past our defense and it was 1-on-1 against Morgan and she dove and knocked the ball down, then popped up and fell on the ball. I wish I would have gotten that on video! She played in the field the second half and scored two goals!
We had some time between games, but didn't want to drive the 45+ minutes back home and then turn around and come back. So, one of the other parents made reservations at Dave and Buster's for us to grab lunch and let the kids play games. There was so much sugar consumed, we were really worried that the girls would all have a sugar crash at halftime!
Game #3: Sunday 3:55 PM vs Chicago Inter MWC: Loss 1-2. This was tough game! The team we played was dominating all the other teams and had won by more than 4 goals against the other teams and no one had scored on them yet! I was sort of expecting a blow out, but glad that it went as well as it did. Morgan played goalie the first half again. Both goals were scored in this half, but they were almost impossible for her to defend. They were kicked from farther out and literally just below the top bar. Maybe if she had jumped higher, she could have gotten them. Or maybe if she was a little taller! She was really upset, but she had some great saves again and did an awesome job at goalie! She played in the field the second half. I did not take any pictures during the game... too intense and I forgot! This team was definitely more physical and one girl even took a shove at Morgan from behind after the play was dead. No one saw or called it... which was kind of typical. The refs were letting quite a lot slide. Even our coach yelled at the refs one time and he rarely ever does that. The girls played tough, but just couldn't get another goal.
Game #1 - Saturday at Noon vs Empire - Loss 0-1: We really should have won this game. It was like there was a force field on the goal blocking all out shots! We just couldn't get it in! We had so many attempts, it was just so unfortunate. Morgan played goalie the first half. The other team scored an early goal on a cross kick and we just weren't set up to stop it. Morgan played in the field the second half. I took no pictures of this game - oops!

It was a fun first tournament for the 2012 girls. Hopefully, they'll continue to work well together and improve throughout the season! :)
