Spartans win! (Herrick 38 vs Westmont 15)

Morgan's team played against Westmont Junior High on Thursday. Another win for the girls! The five girls that have been consistently starting are Morgan, Sadie, Lauren, Emma and Lacey. Most of the girls on Morgan's team play travel basketball somewhere.

Vet Visit

Milo had his annual check-up with Dr. Lindsay today. He did great! He loves all the attention, but hates the shots. And he had to get four this year! He was a little hesitant at first when the tech and the Dr. came in, but a few minutes later he was flopped over on his back requesting belly rubs. He's such a baby!

Spartans win! (Herrick 38 vs Cass 6)

The Herrick Spartans had another easy win against Cass Junior High. This team had 5th thru 7th graders on it, so there were some smaller girls. We have heard that next week's games will be a little more competitive, so the girls are looking forward to that!

Double Header - Spartans win (yay!) and Roadrunners lose (boo!)

Morgan had two games again this Tuesday night. First, her basketball team played against Westview Hills. The gym/court was really small! Westview Hills was undefeated this year just like Herrick. Even though it was a little tougher of a game, it was still an easy win for Morgan's team 24-4. Matt was out of town and Avery was at cheer workshop, so it was just me cheering Morgan on!

Then, we changed gears and uniforms and headed to the last soccer game of the season. It was a late one at 8:30 PM in Schaumburg. It was a disappointing end to the season as they lost 2-1. The game actually didn't matter for the standings since right before us the team we were tied in second place with tied their game. So, we had secured second place and they were third because we beat them head-to-head. The game itself was a complete shit show thanks to the main referee. He was on some sort of power trip from the very beginning. He yelled at the parents and at the players. Morgan said he told her to "shut her mouth" once. It doesn't surprise me because he yelled the same and more to the parents on the sideline. I think after we started yelling at him, he called even more bad calls on our team. The team we played against were poor sports. At one point, they kicked a dead ball to the other end of the field when we were getting ready for a free kick after a foul so that they could run down the clock. The ref did give them a yellow card for that. Then, towards the end of the game, one of their players faked being injured to run down the clock. Our coach was yelling that they should get another yellow card for that, but it was too late anyway. Overall this season, the girls did well (and finished a lot better than last season!) We're looking forward to a little break from soccer before the winter season starts.

Pre-game bump with Abby!

Bloody Mary

We went out to Bryan's on Sunday to grab lunch and watch some of the Bears game. My Bloody Mary had a huge stalk of celery! It was good!

Halloween / Birthday Party

We had our annual cousins' birthday party to celebrate Avery (13), Morgan (13), Grayson (13), Nolan (12), Beckett (11) and Hunter's (11) birthdays. Calvin is the only one not born in October or November. So, he gets to celebrate his "half-birthday". :)

Grandma and Grandpa embraced the 6-7 trend!

I was a hippie and Erin was a soda!

All the kids on their devices at dinner... this was the only time they were quiet - ha!

It's like Christmas with all the present opening!

Avery got an automatic curling iron and had to try it out immediately!

After dinner, Erin had a puzzle challenge for the kids!

Here's Beckett showing off his new LED mask we got him for his birthday... it's kind of creepy!

18 years... wow!

Just wanted to say that this blog has been around for 18 years! My very first post was on November 1, 2007. What started out as a way to keep everyone updated on my travels when working overseas turned into so much more! I often find myself looking back at posts from a long time ago (sometimes because I actually forget stuff - ha!)
