Variety Show
Avery has been practicing super hard for weeks for the big Variety Show. She did a dance to Ghostbusters with a few of her friends, coached by one of their Dad's, Ben. Avery kept saying she was "nervous" to be on stage, but once she was up there, I don't think there was an ounce of nerves in that girl. She loved being on stage! Ben told them their goal was to get the crowd to yell "Ghostbusters" when they said "Who You Gonna Call?" and she took that seriously. She yelled the loudest up there in her munchkin voice! :) She was sad when the performances were over.
Here's the dress rehearsal at the school. All the kids did their full numbers for this rehearsal.
They did a performance for the rest of the school on Friday that was just for the kids. No parents were allowed. But, I heard from Avery that is was "super fun" and everyone yelled "Ghostbusters", so she was happy.
The actual performance was held at the historic Tivoli Theater. They had a rehearsal at the theater, but that was just the first few seconds of their dance and not a full dress rehearsal. Mostly, just to get them familiar with how they need to line up and how it feels to be on the "big stage". We were #28 our of 33 numbers, so they spent a lot of time waiting around, but they were so good!
The real show - this video is terrible because of the lighting. Once I get the full video from the production company, I'll add a link so you can see people's faces instead of just bright light blobs on a stage!
The cutest little Ghostbuster!
After the show, we let Avery pick where we ate lunch to celebrate her great job at the performance. She picked Yard House, of course! We got the giant pretzel for an appetizer!
She's already talking about what she wants to do next year! Morgan even said she wanted to participate next year, but we'll see what she says once the time rolls around. :)

Star Student
Avery had her turn for Star Student and had a blast picking out pictures for her board at school. It was really hard picking her favorites. I went in to read a book to her class during snack time on Wednesday. The kids loved the book Avery picked out!
Play time
We were feeling a little cramped in our house and decided to get out for a bit. Morgan requested "indoor golf", so we went to the Enchanted Castle. They have games, an indoor playland, mini-golf, go-karts, etc. at this place. The kids earn tickets for prizes, which is Avery's favorite part!
Crafts!
When you are stuck inside, you need something fun to do. We grabbed all of the crafty stuff we could find and made some Valentine's Day crafts.
