Quarantine Day 68: Spa Day

On Wednesday, the girls did an experiment with Mama and Papa to make little lava lamps with oil and alka seltzer. You've probably seen this going around Facebook. Morgan picked green and Avery picked purple.

For lunch, we had the girls try bologna. They had never tried it before, but both seemed to really like it! Go figure.

The girls had "spa day" with Mama and Papa today. Foot baths with fizzy water and a pedicure! I think they could get used to this! Hope they don't expect this from Matt and I back at home! :)

After spa day, the girls painted sea shells from Mama and Papa's last trip to Florida.

Quarantine Day 67: Crafts with Papa

Today started off with Craft Time with Papa! Avery was making jewelry and Morgan was painting a unicorn.

Avery showing off her new necklace!

Morgan showing off her painted unicorn!

What's better than the dirt pile after a bunch of rain??? Nothing if you ask these two! They're building a habitat for the worms.

We had to hose them off after playing in the mud!

We ordered dinner from Public House 29, which is a favorite of the girls. Avery loves their grilled cheese and Morgan ate all of her chicken fingers plus some of Mama's meal! Not sure where that girl puts it... I'm pretty sure she burns it off as soon as she eats it, though!

Before bed, Papa let the girls climb up the BIG ladder to the loft area above the new sunroom. They had to be very careful since there is not yet any sort of railing up there! Getting up there wasn't too scary, but they both thought coming back down the ladder was scary.

Then, we colored some pictures and headed off to bed! Tired girls!

Quarantine Day 66: Off to Grandma and Grandpa's house

We started the day off with our weekly Zoom call with the Duesterhaus family. Always crazy and chaotic!

Then, the girls and I packed up to go to my parents' house for a few days. Matt and I needed to get caught up on work and the girls needed a change of scenery. The drive down was pretty bad... lots of heavy rain! At one point, Morgan asked me "Mommy, can you even see? Because I can't see!" We made it, though!

I had forgotten to post this... my mom asked Morgan what she wanted to eat while we were at their house. Here is what Morgan sent her through Facebook Messenger.

Then, she sent my mom these pictures. Such a goof!

Oh, and the girls packed their suitcases full of stuff for Caroline and Sofie! We can't forget our American Girl Dolls anywhere we go these days!

Anyway, back to our visit... Mama and Papa had set up the sunroom as a big playroom for the girls. They loved it! We can't wait until the sunroom is finished!

After that nerve wracking drive, I was glad Mom had some wine for me! :)

Mama and Papa had lots of crafts for the girls to do.

This is not a craft, but Morgan didn't like the stink bugs in the sunroom, so Papa let her suck them up with the big vacuum. She kept finding more bugs so she could suck them up, too!

Avery worked on her Pinterest boards with Mama. Avery has become quite a little Pinterest fan trying to find things to decorate her room with. We have lots of ideas on her board!

It was taco night and Morgan decided she was a huge fan of hard shell tacos now.

Avery thought it was hilarious that she had to eat with such a large fork (aka the "adult" fork).

After dinner, we walked around the neighborhood with our popsicles. The girls got to test out their rain boots in all the ditches full of water!

And, of course, Morgan found some worms. Can't believe she got Avery to hold one, too!

Then, they played with the neighbor's cat... until it scratched them both. Then, they declared they hate cats!

Back at home in Downers Grove, there was massive flooding going on with all the heavy rains.

Matt went out walking later that night and took some pictures. If you don't know what this looks like regularly, you won't be as shocked to see this... but, this is a massive amount of water!

The whole trail by the pond is flooded! This is where the girls normally scooter, roller-skate and ride bikes!

The park was under water, too! Matt said there were ducks swimming in here!

Crazy! Glad our basement stayed dry! I heard a lot of others near us weren't so lucky.

Quarantine Day 65: Sunday Funday... the Saturday edition

We grabbed lunch from Wendy's today and indulged with some Frosties! Yum!

The girls and I are going to my parents house tomorrow, so instead of Sunday Funday, we had Saturday Funday with the Wilkens this week.

Morgan made mud at the bottom of the slide... nice.

The crew enjoying the sunshine while Matt grills out.

Lots of frisbee throwing today!

Avery had the hardest time trying to catch the frisbee. Erin even offered her money to catch it! She finally caught one and was super happy!

Beckett kept trying to get in the middle of the frisbee throwing and wanted to see if he could duck in time. Sounds like a great idea, right ?!?!

 Bubbles galore!

Another fun day with the Wilkens!

Quarantine Day 64: Legos and pizza making

Another yucky day, so we busted out some new lego sets for the girls to put together. Avery put hers together all by herself. She was determined not to get any help from us. Morgan likes things done fast, so of course she wanted our help!

We had make your own pizzas for dinner. Always a hit with this crew!

Quarantine Day 63: Puddles

It was rainy in the morning, so we had to stay inside. Avery did Cosmic Kids Yoga and Morgan did a dance party in the basement for some exercise.

Luckily, later in the afternoon, the weather cleared up and we were able to go for a little walk. There were some pretty big puddles to go wading through! Such fun!
