Girls Room Renovation - Part 1

We said good-bye to the loft beds! The girls have been wanting to redo their rooms for a while now. They both have outgrown their loft beds. They just don't like climbing up in them and the beds are only twin size and they want something a little bigger.

So, I listed them on Facebook Marketplace. I have never bought or sold anything on Marketplace and was a little leery of it hearing stories from other people. I had a lot of interest in the beds, but really wanted to sell them together so it was just easier. Luckily, a woman with two little girls wanted both of them! Yay! I will say I had read up on the "Zelle scam" that some people were trying to pull, so I said it was cash only. Some random guy had messaged me (outside of Facebook Marketplace) and said he was interested and his sister was going to do to the pick up. He was kind of strange (like never mentioning which or both beds he wanted or his offer and seemed in a hurry). He then just said "I can Zelle you the money now", but I wrote back and said it was cash only. Then, he completely blocked me, didn't even respond. Hmmm.

Luckily (or unluckily for my dad), my parents were in town the weekend we sold them, so we had help taking them apart and downstairs.

Dance

 Avery gets to do TWO dances this year in the recital - one for tap and one for jazz. She is super excited! The theme is "Game Night"! One of her dances is in the House of Cards section and the other is in the Chess section (I have no idea what that means, but I'm sure we'll find out!)

Just a couple of moves Morgan was working on in karate the past few visits.

Cupcakes

 While Morgan was at soccer practice, Avery made cupcakes! She's getting so good at baking!

Bowling

With the holiday and rainy weather today, we decided to go bowling. We played three games - 1st game was Avery and Dad vs Mom and Morgan. Second game, we switched. Then, the third game was parents against kids, but the parents had to bowl with their left hands. And that was much harder than I thought it would be! The kids easily beat us!

Movie time

We went to see Puss in Boots: The Last Wish in the theater. We hadn't been to a theater since last summer vacation.

Soccer Saturday

The indoor soccer league is in full swing now. Morgan practices on Mondays and Wednesdays, then they have at least one game on the weekend. They are doing this "pool" thing for this league instead of putting people in "black" or "white" teams. So, each week, they set a roster based on who is available and skill level. There are 20 players in total and they like to have 12 at each game. This week, Morgan and 5 others were asked to play both games.

The first game was in Romeoville. We got started with the game and then the fire alarm went off! We all had to evacuate the building! We could smell the smoke, which turned out to be burnt popcorn in the concession stand. It smelled so horrible! Avery and I had to leave for dance before they got the game started back up, so we missed most of it. They ended up losing 8-2. Morgan scored one of the goals.

Then, it was off to the second game, which was in Glen Ellyn. Since the first game ran long, Morgan had to eat quickly in the car ride. The next game went better. They ended up winning 8-2 (ironically!) Morgan scored 3 goals in this game - hat trick!
