Avery had a soccer game on Saturday and I caught a couple of shots of her playing. She's having fun playing with friends from Whittier, but not super happy that they keep losing. It makes her miss playing on Roadrunners, because they had more structure, practice and players who were more invested in learning the game. It is frustrating for me to watch because it's like some of the kids have played for years and still don't get the game or know what they are supposed to do. But, if Avery enjoys it, we'll keep doing it.

Picture Day

It was picture day at school, which means craziness in the morning. Morgan decided she wanted me to curl her hair and put it in a side ponytail. Avery wanted two small braids and her hair down. They both wore new outfits! We made it out the door and to school on time - success!

This is how I sent them to school... we'll see how their actual pictures turn out!

Another lost tooth!

Avery is on the slow schedule for losing teeth. Morgan has one or two more left to lose and Avery has like 11! But, the other night after she was supposed to be asleep, she started messing with her tooth. She was able to wiggle it out!

Soccer Saturday

Avery had a game this morning for her soccer team. They lost, but didn't allow any goals in the second half. The coach had Avery go 1-on-1 with the girl on the other team that was making most of the plays. And she held her off from scoring any more!

Then, Avery was off to her first rehearsal of Willy Wonka. Morgan, Matt and I grabbed lunch at Uncle Juilo's. Then, we relaxed a bit at home before Morgan's game.

Morgan's soccer game was in Minooka, IL (south past Joliet). They won 4-2! They are working on a new format on the field and the girls are getting used to new positions. It's to set them up for going 11 v 11 next year.

Labor Day at Uncle Brett's new house

My brother bought a new house! And... it has a swimming pool! He invited us over for Labor Day and the girls had so much fun!

Labor Day Soccer tournament

Morgan had her first soccer tournament for the Select team over Labor Day. At the last minute, their team got moved up into the Gold bracket (playing some pretty tough teams!) The coaches told them to expect to get creamed. Ugh.

Check out this fancy new "Home" kit! It's bright!

They ended up winning their first game! We played on a baseball field/soccer field. It was weird. Morgan had an awesome corner kick to a teammate for a goal! Our goalie even managed to score a goal on a punt that bounced over the other team's goalie's head (she barely touched it with her fingertips!)

They lost the next two games and didn't make it to the championship. They played well and it was SOOO hot!
