B-ball game

Morgan had a Team MC game on Sunday morning at Montini. It was a non-conference game. It was another competitive game! Morgan got bounced around a little bit and ended up with a big bruise on her hip. She got the chance to shoot a few more free throws in the game. Her team ended up pulling out the win in the end, which was a great way to kick off the holiday break!

Ears pierced!

The girls were super excited (and a little nervous!) to get their ears pierced. Morgan was getting her first piercing and Avery was getting her second hole pierced. We had made the appointment a while ago to be on a Saturday, so we could have tandem piercers do both ears at the same time. We went to the same place Avery had her initial ear piercing done, The Constable Tattoo Parlor. They pierce ears with needles and not the gun, so hopefully that makes it more accurate and heal better. Morgan was so nervous and they were great at calming her down.

Measuring her ears

Double piercing looks great!

She said it was not as bad as she thought it would be!

DPDC Winter Showcase

Avery's dance studio held a Winter Showcase recital on Friday night at the studio. They learned a few dances over the last month to perform for their families. They had a bunch of smaller recital sessions, so Avery was in two of the sessions. Her Acro dance was first. Matt and Morgan were at soccer practice, so they missed that one.

Avery with her friend Kendra. They are both on the dance team and doing a duet together for the competitions.

Here is the Acro dance:

After the Acro dance, Avery and I hit up the hot chocolate bar. She loved it!

We came home, had dinner and then headed back over for her second recital session. This was for her lyrical and jazz classes.

Avery did a great job! She had missed a few weeks of classes, but was able to pick up the dances quickly! We love watching her perform and she has such a fun time doing it!

Last day of school in 2024

The girls school had a "holiday fun day" for the last day before holiday break. They bus all the kids over to the Tivoli for a movie. This year they saw Polar Express. They get popcorn and soda and an afternoon off of school! The girls dressed up in cute holiday gear and even wore the pants from our Christmas pajamas. For a cute picture in the morning, we decked Milo out in his holiday sweater! :)

A little dinner show

Ruth came over for dinner Sunday night and the girls decided to put on a little holiday show for us! They choreographed a dance! It was super cute!

B-ball Games

Morgan had an early Team MC basketball game vs Elmhurst. It was a really competitive game and it got a little intense! Morgan played a great game, really aggressive and making some smart plays. There was even an incident where another girl basically ran Morgan down and she fell to the ground. She managed to pull it together and stay in the game. Of course, the next time down the court, Morgan fouled the girl as a little payback. As expected, that did not go over well and the other girl retaliated back and threw the ball at Morgan, which resulted in that girl getting a technical foul. The game was close until the very end, but Morgan's team ended up losing 27-22.

Boxing out

Later, she had a park district basketball game, the last of their season. My dad was in town and he brought Grayson and Hunter with him to watch Morgan play. Morgan's team won and she did great! She's definitely improved since her first games with all the extra practice on Team MC.

Eye Appointments

We all got our eyes checked out on Saturday morning. The girls eyes are still good... no glasses for them - yet! I still can't believe they haven't had to get glasses yet. I was in first grade when I got my first pair of glasses. My eyes have stayed the same. Matt has made it this long without needing glasses, but that has changed! He will now be sporting some glasses while working and using his computer. Also, they will be bifocals to help with reading the tiny print. I'll post a pic once they come in!
