Sammy Fund Weekend 2016

Another fun Sammy weekend is in the books! Matt and I drove down to Quincy and dropped off the kiddos at Mama and Papa's house in Rochester for the weekend. The girls had a blast with Mama and Papa while we had a blast hanging out with Chuck and June and friends in Quincy.

We got into Quincy late Friday night. We got a late start out of Chicago because we had to stop off at the doctor to get Avery's foot checked out. She had a boo-boo that wouldn't heal. Turns out it's cellulitis and she's now on some antibiotics. Ugh!

On Saturday, Matt played golf with a bunch of guys while I got my nails done and went shopping! Saturday night, we went to an Oktoberfest street festival with Chuck and June and some of their friends. Beers, brats, polka music = a fun time was had by all!

Sunday morning was the golf tournament. The weather was gorgeous! We started off the morning with Bloody Mary's!

Morning preparations
While Matt was golfing, I spent the day shopping and I went to see Girl on the Train. I liked the book a lot better than the movie. It felt sort of Lifetime movie-ish to me or something. Not sure, but it wasn't my favorite movie. That night, we went out to a blues club to hear some live music. A friend of Chuck and June's was playing in the band that night.

Another selfie; this time with the guy they call "midget"
While we were partying it up in Quincy, the girls were having lots of fun with Mama and Papa. They went to a festival with lots of arts and craft projects, some animals and Smoky the Bear. They even did a sack race!

They never miss an opportunity to get their faces painted
Morgan got to pet a snake - definitely a highlight of her weekend

Taking a ride on the train at the mall
There was a firehouse open house at the station right by my parents house. The girls got to see a fake accident where a helicopter came in and took away a guy on a stretcher. Morgan is so sensitive that I was worried when I saw the pictures. My mom said Morgan just wanted to help the injured "person". She did tell me all about it, but seemed to be ok.

Morgan is very concerned about the dummy ,but Avery is just playing in the rocks

The girls came home worn out! Morgan had a new love for orange juice (which we don't drink much at our house) and Avery was a master Go Fish player! She told me she beat Papa all the time! :)
