Kelly's wedding shower

I'm finally getting around to posting some pictures from my trip home a few weeks back for Kelly's wedding shower. My cousin Kelly married her husband Ruben last April, but they are celebrating their marriage this year once Ruben is home from the military.

Here's Kelly in the apron... we played a game where you try to remember all the gadgets on the apron after she walks out of the room

Lots of yummy cupcakes and a wedding dress cake

Yep, we played the toliet paper wedding dress game and I got to be our team's model

Dinners: Matt - 6 Stacia - 1

I am losing miserably in this season's bowling bets. Each week Matt and I bet on total bowling score including handicap. I started the season off with a high average and a low handicap. Matt started off with the opposite. So, he's been building back up and I've been dropping down.

I owe him 6 dinners... he owe's me 1. I might just lump them all together and take him to Capital Grille or somewhere nice! : )

Random stuff on a Tuesday

Weekend was fun... spent some much needed time recooperating from my nasty cold on Friday night. I'm finally feeling and sounding better.

On Saturday night, we met up with Erin and Ross, Keely and Brian, and Brett and Sandi for sushi at Nano. We always have a fun time there... great food and the owner Linda is the best!

The cable went out on BOTH of our tv's this past weekend! The cable box in our bedroom just died completely. And the cable in the living room is getting that same error message we've already had a few times that was apparently "very rare" according to the Access Media guy last time he fixed it. Well, can't be THAT rare, considering it's happened to us 3 times now in the last 6 months and the last time was a month ago! Ugh. It should be all fixed tomorrow... I can't wait!

Matt signed us both up for an NCAA seed pool. Guess what he made my team name? "My husband is awesome!" That's the last time I let him choose a team name for me. I actually didn't even select the teams either. So, basically, he just wanted to sign up twice and used my name.

I'm sure some of you have probably seen this website (Damn You Auto Correct) already, but I just found out about it today and it's cracking me up! It's a bunch of auto-corrected text messages.

I downloaded iBooks for my iPhone yesterday and bought my first book, The Help. I wasn't sure how it would be reading on the iPhone, but it's not terrible. I'm still getting used to it. I'm sure it's not doing any favors for my eyesight.

I know it's only Tuesday, but I'm already looking forward to the weekend. Erin and I are driving home to Rochester for our cousin Kelly's wedding shower! : )

Snazzy new bowling shirts

Ross requested Iowa colors!

It didn't help our bowling much, though! : )

Another fun weekend

* * * * * * * * * * *

Dear Erin and Ross,
Thank you so much for the Reba/George Strait concert tickets! We had a blast! : )
Love, Stacia and Matt

* * * * * * * * * * *

We all met up at Erin's place before the concert for a little pre-party. Then, we went to the concert in style... a huge Hummer limo! So fun!

My mom and Keely

That's  a packed limo!

Andy and Michelle

We made it to the concert! Drink up!

Leann Womack kicked the concert off

Reba was up next!

Love Reba!

This made the concert a little more fun for that husband of mine!

Reba put on a great show... I just love her! Her old co-star, Melissa Peterman, even made a cameo appearance to sing the theme song from their show. Melissa Peterman was a riot!

Next up was George Strait...

That is one good-looking man!

Brett and Sandi

George Strait sang our wedding song... so, of course Matt and I had to dance. I love that song. Our first dance was one of my favorite parts of our wedding day! : )

We had a different limo on the way home with some psychedelic lighting

It was such a fun time with family and friends and amazing music! : )

Ski Weekend

Last weekend, a group of us headed up to Wisconsin Dells for some skiing. It snowed the ENTIRE day we were there! Everyone had a great time skiing and there were no major injuries, thank goodness. Ross gets the award for most graceful fall from the ski lift... while trying to get on. No pictures of that. Sorry.

It was such a snowy day!

Erin and Keely

Ross, Brian and Matt

We stayed in a huge condo with a kitchen, a couple of fireplaces, a hot tub, the works! It worked out perfectly for our group. I had picked up a bunch of beer and snacks and we ordered in pizzas, played games and had a ton of fun!

Spotted Cow - a great Wisconsin beer

Erin gets the award for most vague Catch Phrase clues. Maybe she thought there was a word limit on the clues you could give, not sure. Her most famous clue was "It's a BLANK BLANK BLANK in here!" (all caps indicates the words she yelled very loudly) Just to help you out... the answer is THREE RING CIRCUS. There was definitely a lot going on in the condo, so it made sense after the fact. Another one of her informative clues... "LOWER WACKER"... the correct response is the Batmobile.

Ross gets the award for best recreation of a popular tv show theme song... and by best, I mean worst. He started singing "We are mutants" and the correct answer is... The Addams Family. Seems obvious, right?

On Sunday morning, we were awakened bright and early by the loudest fire alarm I have ever heard in my entire life, no joke! Painful! I was so out of it, I thought it was the alarm clock in our bedroom and was trying to turn it off. I yelled at Matt to help me turn the alarm clock off and he grabbed me and said "its the fire alarm!" Matt had already put on his slippers, grabbed his phone and wallet and was getting ready to go outside if need be. Good thing for me Matt is around, because I was obviously worthless in an emergency. Luckily, the fire alarm turned off quickly and there was no fire.

We stopped off for lunch on our way home. We made it back to Chicago with enough time for a much-needed snooze before bowling. Speaking of bowling, I bowled the best game of my life that night... 232! I was freaking out!
