Gooooooooal!!!!!!

Morgan's team had their second game of the winter season on Wednesday night. Their first game was a big loss (they played against a really good team). This week, they played against a team that was better matched in level. So, the game wasn't one-sided and was more fun to watch. Morgan's team ended up winning 2-0 and she scored one of the goals!

Here's a funny story... Avery and I were upstairs where spectators have to stand. I decided I wanted to get a couple pictures, so she and I headed down to the field. Just as we got down there, Morgan made a run for the goal and scored! So, I actually got pictures!

Here she is getting ready to kick the ball

She kicked it hard (and fell to the ground) and it got by the goalie!

She was so excited and her coach was really excited for her, too!

Morgan's first cavity

Morgan was devastated last week when they found a cavity at her dental check-up. She was so worried about getting it filled and having a shot. She stressed about it for all the days leading up to the appointment. Even Twinkle Toes tried to calm her down.

When we got to the appointment, Morgan was so upset. The dentist was really nice and calmed her down. They also gave her nitrous oxide, which helped! They have a tv on the ceiling, so she watched Monsters, Inc. The part she was the most worried about was getting the shot. She actually didn't even know she got the shot! She didn't believe the dentist when he told her he had already given it to her! She thought for sure he was lying. He even showed her the needle and that the medicine was all gone. So, needless to say, it went much better than she expected. Thank goodness!

We celebrated with milkshakes from Portillo's afterwards because she was starving (and wasn't allowed to eat anything except soft foods until feeling came back in her mouth).

Winner, winner chicken dinner!

Morgan's teacher sent home some pictures from a school assembly where Morgan got chosen to play a game and won! She had to drop a ping pong ball from her forehead into a cup. She got it on the first try! :)

Cookies

Morgan had a friend over for a sleepover and we decided to make cookies. We ran to the store and picked some stuff up. The cookies didn't turn out that great, but they tasted good! (Probably because I used pre-made dough instead of making the dough from scratch - shortcuts!)

Morgan did more eating than decorating!

Winter Showcase

DPDC held a Winter Showcase dance recital today. They split the recitals up by age, so each was about 45 minutes long. Avery was in two of the recitals - petites and juniors. Avery is in one class that is a combo of petite and juniors, so they put that one in the petite recital. And her regular jazz class is a junior level (which is ages 9-11).

I was worried about getting her hair in a bun after she got it chopped off!

We stopped at DQ for ice cream between the recitals

In the blue lights!

I'm so proud of her! She has learned how to do her own make-up now since she's been in dance and musicals! She did an amazing job on stage. The kids only learned these dances 3 weeks ago. It's not like the June recital that they work on the dances for months!

Here are her videos. The Acro video had to be muted because it was to Mariah Carey song and was copyrighted. If I figure out how to load it with sound, I'll fix this.

Umm, that's a lot of ziploc bags!

Our drawer stopped closing, so I took a look. And then 15 minutes later, it was working again. There were a ton of towels and ziploc bags behind the drawer! It was crazy how we just kept pulling them out of there! We used tongs to get them out because they were so far back. What a mess!

Chicago Botanic Garden Lightscape

This year, we went to the Chicago Botanic Garden Lightscape to kick off our holiday season! It was a little more of a drive than the Morton Arboretum, but it was worth it! We lucked out with really good weather - not too cold or windy!
