Back at the orthodontist already!

Well, that was quick! Already broke off a bracket, so we went back to the orthodontist about 24 hours later. Turns out, it wasn't her fault. A bottom bracket broke off because the top teeth were hitting it, so they had to put more "bite block" on her back teeth so her mouth wouldn't close all the way. "Bite block" is this blue stuff kind of like composite that they put on the teeth. It takes some getting used to.

While we were there, they also found 4 other brackets in a row on the top that were loose and falling off! The orthodontist said something must have gone wrong in the bonding process for all of those to fall off. That wasn't typical. Awesome.

We spent longer than expected getting all this fixed up, but fingers crossed we are good now!

Braces

Morgan got her braces on Monday! It took a couple of hours, but we finally made it out of there! SHe got the dark blue rubber bands to start with. She requested ice cream, so we stopped off at Dairy Queen on the way home. :) Let's hope the next few days aren't too painful!

Team MC Shootout

Morgan had a shootout for her basketball team. Shootouts are like small tournaments with two games and then they decide a winner for your bracket. They only had six girls available to play and they played two games back to back. I made it to the gym in the second half of the first game. They were up 23-20 when I got there. I heard from the other parents that Morgan had sunk a 3-pointer earlier in the game! They played really tough and won the first game 30-26.

In the second game, they also played tough! They were passing well, getting rebounds and doing great at defense. They were exhausted by the end with only one sub. They ended up winning the second game, too! They came in 1st place and got medals! :)

Weekend Soccer

Morgan's G2012 Select team had their game on Friday night. I wasn't able to go because I was waiting for Sandy, John and Ruth to come over. But, Matt said it was a good game. They ended up tying 1-1. I accidentally told Morgan the wrong color to wear, so she showed up in bright yellow while the rest of the team was wearing black. Oops! She played goalie the whole game, so it was ok. She was giving her ankle some more rest after hurting it at recess on Wednesday.

On Saturday, Morgan subbed for the G2011 Select team. They were short players again. The game was at OPRF High School (Oak Park River Forest). They had to start off with only 10 players. The 11th player showed up about 30 minutes into the game. It was a close game, but they ended up losing 3-1. Morgan played in the field the whole game because they have a dedicated goalie. She did a great job!

After the game, we went out for dinner at Weber Grill. Of course, we had to take silly selfies! We finally got a good one!

Official Soccer Photo

We got back Morgan's soccer picture for this season. I don't have the team pic yet, but will add that once I get it!
