Weekly update from DG

A few other pictures from our recent activities...

We had another nature class at the park district. The girls made little firefly catchers and walked around collecting bugs and treasures through the woods.

This girl has no fear of bugs

Avery likes to watch them first
There is this big rock in the parking lot and every single time we go here, Morgan and/or Avery try to push it over. Gotta have goals! :)

A friend of mine moved to Indiana and had a going away party at her house last week. She has a koi pond with TONS of fish. The girls love feeding them.

We also got to hang out with our friends Hany and Kayla at the party. Kayla is a year older than the girls and they play so well together.

Combining two of our favorite things... coloring and being outside!

We recently got the girls some new scooters. We ordered them on Saturday and they came on Tuesday. And the girls were counting down each day until they were delivered. On Tuesday morning, Avery woke up and said "it's scooter day!" Of course, the two scooters were delivered separately and Morgan's came during the day and Avery's didn't show up until after 8PM that night. She was so disappointed! But, we've gotten plenty of scooter practice since then.

These are their "mean" faces
A friend of ours from work that lives in Downers Grove celebrated her 50th birthday this past weekend. We all sat outside enjoying some yummy food and drinks. One of her friends even had a guy come play the bag-pipes for her. He just walked up on the sidewalk playing out of nowhere. It was pretty cool. Avery said she wants to be a bag-piper when she gets older. We'll add that to the list of professions she has shown interest in. :) The girls loved swinging on the hammock.

I told them to pretend to be asleep - ha!
We didn't stick around late enough for the cake, but the girls were sent home with some pink sugar cookies, which were a big hit!

Seriously, I am going to have a ton of pictures of Avery. She'll just look at me and say "take my picture, mommy" all the time! She also stands in front of the mirror and says "my reflection is so beautiful". Oy. No lack of self-esteem on this one!

We go on lots of walks these days. Mainly because the girls hope to see people walking dogs so they can pet them! It's like an obsession! If Morgan sees a dog across the street, she yells out at the owner "what's your dog's name?" and "can I pet your dog?" They will be half a block away and she starts yelling at them! On these walks, the girls make up songs and pretend to be Anna and Elsa or whoever they are obsessed with that day. It's super cute to watch their imaginations go crazy.
