I just thought this bumper sticker was funny...

Happy Mother's Day!

It's too bad that you couldn't make it up to Chicago this weekend, but we'll celebrate in a few weeks when you guys are here!

Also, Happy Mother's Day to my Gramma!

A big thanks to Amy & Dan for a wonderful lunch on Sunday... we left stuffed (as we always do)! And congrats to Gavin on his confirmation!

Toga! Toga!

Saturday, Erin and I hit up JoAnn's fabrics for some much needed toga supplies. We got white togas for the boys, mine was off-white with sparkles and Erin got Strawberry Shortcake (very cute).

We met up at Erin's place to get ready... we ordered some Pizza Hut (to create a good base for the night of drinking ahead of us) and practiced wrapping the togas. That was not as easy as the instructions on the website made it sound. We managed to wrap ourselves up so we were covered and not totally exposed. I had quite a lot of fabric for my toga and it was heavy (and hot!).

Here's Matt & I in our togas before heading to the party... and Lauren with her date (Matt from Farmer Wants a Wife)... love the John Deere fabric!

Here are some other random pics from the toga party...

We played Disaster (the first time for me) and I lost miserably. I had to do shots both rounds we played.

Then we played some euchre. I think I lost miserably again at that. But, I did manage to push Reuter off his chair and flat on the floor... or maybe he just fell on his own while dealing cards... for no apparent reason at all.. and needed someone to blame??? : ) Gravity can be a bitch, huh?

Not only was it a toga party, we were also celebrating Stacey's birthday. Happy Birthday!

After the toga party, we made a trip to the Diner Grill... I think I've written about this place before and the culinary treat that is called the "Slinger" (a big heaping mess containing the following: hash browns, grilled onions, two cheeseburger patties and two eggs over easy all covered in chili). No matter how long it's been since the last time Matt was there, Kenny (the grill guy) gives him a big shout out like he's Norm from Cheers or something when he walks in the door. We ordered up some nice greasy food and played songs on the jukebox. Bryan was the only one who ordered the Slinger... he even got the certificate. Nice job, man.

I have more pics from the party... click here to see them.

Movie night

Matt and I met up with Andy to see Iron Man... awesome movie! I highly recommend it!

Best part for Reuter was that Nat'l City was giving away free movie passes for a second movie that night, so he caught Forgetting Sarah Marshall also.

After the movie, Matt and I went out for sushi at Izumi and I got my favorite Strawberry Maki again... I'm addicted. Matt tried a new roll called the Snow Blast (Tempura encrusted softshell crab, green onion, masago, unagi, and hot sauce with Tempuraflake, unagi sauce, and wasabi mayo), which was super tasty. I think that will be a back-up for me if I ever get tired of the Strawberry Maki.

Finally Friday

Ok, so today really is Friday now... kinda sucks considering it felt like Friday to me all day yesterday. Anyway, last night Matt and I left work early (yes, I know, I got in late, slacked off for a little while, took a lunch and also left early... nice, huh?!?!). Well, by early, I mean 5:20pm. We worked out at his gym... gotta get ready for the Corporate Challenge run - it's 3.5 miles on May 22nd. We're both running in it. Well, I may be doing some walking.

We watched Kristin on the tv last night... this is Matt in his favorite spot on the couch. Nice remote, man.

I took a few pics in case you missed all the action.

Kristin's new place looks awesome. Congrats!

Warped

I think my mind is warped or something, but I thought this was funny... a guy in my office sent out an email today telling us all that Standard & Poor announced they are going to incorporate analysis of a company's Enterprise Risk Management into their ratings process. Since everything is reduced to acronyms these days, this was the subject line of his email... Subject: S&P ERM Rating Update. Anyone else see what I think is funny? I had to point it out to Matt. I have to keep myself amused somehow. : )

It's a coffee morning

It totally feels like Friday to me today... so bad! I really did not want to go to work this morning. Hence the reason I didn't get into the office until almost 9:30. Oops. And now I've been slacking off for the past hour... catching up on blogs, surfing the internet, reading about stupid celebrities... ugh. It's not like I don't have any work to do, I have tons. What is wrong with me?!?!

In my searches on the internet, I did find a couple of interesting websites about togas. Apparently, using a bedsheet is a bad idea. According to this website, you should definitely buy fabric instead (cheaper, easier to wrap around yourself). But, if you are going to use a bedsheet, check this website out. We're going to pick up some supplies on Saturday for Fubar's toga party this weekend. I haven't been to a toga party since college. I can't wait!

Oh, tonight is Kristin's big debut on TV. Matt flipped through the list of upcoming shows and her episode of House Hunters is definitely on HGTV tonight at 9pm.

Ok, my hour of spacing out has officially ended. I really should get something done now... before the Bobs come to talk to me.
